Yes it's a huge amount of tax, but I guess there's not much we can really do about that.

Looking at between £290 - £300 for a SuperVidel and network interface...ouch

Probably be too much for me in all honesty, plus cost of the extender board as most will need this I guess.

Fair play to the guys for seeing this awesome product through though

Is that extender suppose to push the ct60/63 and ctpci/ethernat/sv boards back away from keyboard correct? i also hear you have to remove HD bracket and HD to get video cable into SV.

For CTPCI and new IDE port, because of the number of cables coming out from under CTPCI, I also had to remove my HD bracket.
May be if your guys are not using the CTPCI external PCI board, you do not have so many cables out.
Anyway with the SV card, you will not need the exteranl PCI boards.

I went on holiday to Sweden this year, very expensive place for a Brit, eating a half decent meal out was almost impossible for less than £50, in fact everything seemed quite expensive (amazing country though), so actually I would say the Supervidel is actually quite cheap comparatively! I will be buying one, though hopefully it doesn't come too soon as I'm totally skint!

With the work done on the CT6x and the SuperVidel what are the possibilities of moving to an FPGA re-creation of a falcon?

I know that the STe re-creation called Suska works really well but is only a fraction as complicated.

The Firebee?? When/if the DSP emulation is ever completed it will be as close to a Falcon clone as we're every likely to see. It's not too far off as it is to be fair.

Hehe :D Maybe in the 70s or 80s it was the best system in the world, but nowadays I feel we just pay a lot of taxes without getting much back.. :(
Remember that if you live outside the EU you don't need to pay Swedish VAT.

Yes, the extender boards move the whole CT60 plus boards back about 35mm, to fit the internal keyboard in the original case, and still allow 2 stacked boards on the CT60. Without the extenders you can only fit one board on the CT60 below the keyboard.
The HD bracket is in the way of the DVI-I extension cable that is needed to connect to the SV to get the ports out the back of the falcon case. If the HD bracket is removed, the free HD can still be placed below the DVI-I cable close to the motherboard.

Wish the TAX rates have anything to the standard of living. We have 27% VAT and have the worst life in Europe at the same time :(

you might need to get them marked as gift? or state a low value as they might be liable for import duty? If you used a US shipping address..... ( I think Wongck has one, he will enlighten how they work perhaps? )

Yeap, my local postal service can provide me with a US, UK and Japan mailing address
They will charge me only for the postage from US/UK/JP to my address & when I use it.
Postage charges for using them is a base charge + weight/volume charge.
Anything below 0.5KG is base only.
I have to take care of postage from seller to the US/UK/JP address, which the seller will normally cover.

There are several such providers in UK & US as well. You can google them.

From experience, it is normally cheaper if the seller is able to ship direct to overseas.
Of course, you have to calculate if there's any gain if you do that to compared that 25% tax.

If you export to serbia, you do not need to pay tax

And i can redistribute it anywhere without paying taxes ;)

Nah, cash is definitely not wanted :) We have ~100 payments to handle so it must be kept as bank transfers (preferred) or Paypal to be manageable. The whole thing is run through Henrik's one-man firm, so we must file accounts each year and add VAT to what we sell and send it to the tax authorities.
We can sell to other VAT-registered firms in the EU without needing to add Swedish VAT though.
People outside the EU lose the VAT also.

Since there are so many combinations of payment options (bank transfer or Paypal), currencies (SEK or EURO) and places were people live (Sweden, EU, rest of the World) we are updating our PHP scripts to let you find out exactly how much in the chosen currency to send us, when you have entered how many of each board type you want. This is to avoid the problems we had with the Ethernat were Paypal often had taken more than was added by the customer to cover the fees.
