Atari Demo Podcast - Is there one?

Postby Tronic » Thu Aug 17, 2006 1:36 pm

Hey all.

Does anyone know whether there is an Atari Demo Video Podcast, like the Amiga Demo podcast:-

http://www.amigademopodcast.com

If not, there will be ;)

Let me know guys - Also, does anyone have the capabilities to host the podcast video files if I start one?

Hi guys, just to emphasise, I would like to create an Atari Demo Podcast.

I listen to Podcasts, and realise that the problems Podcasters face, amoungst other things, are bandwidth issues.

Would anyone out there host the files? If not, can anybody point me in a good direction?

Thanks :)

Think I have found the solution to hosting, and a domain name is free, so it is up to you guys to place your votes - If there is enough support here, then I guess it is worth starting this project up. The target audience is definately there, I am sure of it.

Hi Tronic,

Great idea!, It will perhaps allow people who don't have ST's or run emulators to see all the great demos!

I have downloaded some of the Amiga democast things to watch on PDA and like the idea very much.

I have a question however..... ;-)

How do you propose to record a typical Atari style demo that has demos behind doors? Most/all? Amiga demos were flowing multiparts.

Cheers

That is a good question - Do you have a suggestion ;)

I have an idea but would like some external input before I put my idea across.

I have an old partner in crime willing to help with the project - Wizard of Effect. So, when I have finished decorating my kitchen (lol - how times change), I will get down to it! 8O

I dunno. umm.

Perhaps showing the character making its way to the first door then showing the load/depack screen once and then all the other demo screens from there?

or.

Editing the captured video to speed up during 'door swaps' and the load/depack screen?

It would be a shame not to see the full play field of a demo but tedious watching a load/depack screen 10 or so times. However, I just asked the missus and she said that perhaps people who like demo's would not mind watching the load/depack screen and then went on to compare it to Futurama theme tune, saying you dont mind hearing it knowing that something good is coming.
