Interesting, your terms Copylock 1 and 2, refer to the software side (encription and anti-hacking), or the on-disk protection?

I would guess you are talking about the software side of the protection (which I'm not very familiar). Because the on-disk copy protection on Predator is rather simple, it has no relation to later Copylock and shouldn't be a notable release.

ijor : you're right, the first copylock is not a good protection, nor a challenge for a cracker

but it has to be mentionned, as it is the first one from rob,

I've kept a copy of it ....... somewhere! Remember taking it into IBM so people could try and find me in the video with complete astonishment at how skinny I was back then :)

Well the damndest thing - converted the file to Flash Video, uploaded it to YouTube - no problem.

Just went to look at it again and it's been removed due to some kind of violation? Damn weird!

OK, uploading it now to Depostfiles (the 300Mb version). Will post the link when I get back from the pub quiz.

Hmm, both links lead to this message "We are sorry, but all downloading slots for your country are busy.". Didn't know there are that much Dutch Atari users / fans still active. 8O

Just checked both links and they're both OK. Guess DepositFiles is not "Dutch-friendly"?

They do that sometimes to try and make you buy a premium account. Just keep trying at different hours and you'll get it eventually.

Yep, I'm in the first few minutes with the bling necklace, big hair and (probably) a WASP or similar metal album t-shirt. Definitely in the line-up part as you can see my W.A.S.P. t-shirt fully there :)

EGB and Xerud were there and daresay a few other big hitters of their day. Think Stick posted a full list earlier on in this thread of who everyone was.

Hey, there was a small group of 'crackers' in Stillorgan called Gravatics. I'm pretty sure they didn't really crack anything though, and just rolled their own menus. They were probably 12 years old, because the scrolltexts are unbelievably crude, even by my standards
Back then I only knew two people with STs, and they were schoolkids like myself, so never had a chance to get into the 'scene' if there was one.

I remember paking stuff under the handle of the "Mercenary"...lol..no cracking involved just paking..I remember doing a few compacts never to see the light of day in the scene..I had in my floppy disc boxes...I did do a bit of art on Neo-chorme..and Zoey-trope or cyberpaint in the europe..if my memory serves me right...and had gr8 relations swap with Neil of Cor Blimey...nice guy..wonder what he's doing nowadays?

most of the time in those over here..it was a Sunday club..involving gaming, swapping and drinking lots of coke!...gr8 days, unlike today..all cold and no friendship status

Yeah, one of the downsides to the internet age is looking up from your keyboard to notice that it's 10 minutes after new year and you'd forgotten about it and are alone on the PC at home. :? The first time that happened I was a bit depressed about it

Weird how you can get the file on YouTube and they block me from uploading the whole thing. Ah well, at least it's up there.
