Still not set up my Mega STE/TT after the house move so under STEEM it sounds amazing. If only some of our crappier musicians who embarrassed the YM soundchip all those years ago could see what's really possible now. There are loads of tunes out there in the SNDH database that really do need a makeover - i.e. David Whittaker stuff, I'm especially thinking of his "action" tunes. Bloody awful dirges (but easy to rip!) :)

Pity that the 2nd tune causes STEEM to keel over even though it's on the STE option. Think that's a more than subtle hint that I should unpack my Atari stuff :)
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

Aw, c'mon.. Starray, Weird Dreams tune 4, Platoon tune 5, Speedball, Goldrunner 2 (er, tune 1), Panther (Mmmm) - Some great D.W. tunes!.. Yes he used the SAME SOUNDS, but it was done under the duress of professional musicalism! And you should ignore Xenon II (although I'd bet if the plump dj's did a remix of the original bomb the bass tune, it wouldn't sound too far off dave's chip "rendition".. Only faster. And better sounding).

Ok, ok, I'm not a huge fan of his, but you must admit that he, at the time, probably was the second most featured tunesmith on the ST demo scene and a lot of his stuff wasn't so bad..

I like his stuff - he makes a nice, eerie sound - Archipelagos being a prime example of eerieness.

His slow stuff was good. Usually for a strategy game but, case in point, did you really feel pumped up in Xenon 2 when the chip-tune was playing? Mind you, when you listen to some of his Amiga tunes they weren't much better either :)

Good work, some nice experiments in there.

'Chippy' sounds worthy of playback in a Turrican game.

Will have to listen more as hard to decide which I like best!
