Re: pasti nag-free

The previous upload was just the DLL. Here is the DLL with some primitive indication in the configuration box, and in the text files. Of course, I hope the next version will rather have an 'about' menu in the configuration box or something less intrusive(=request). I feel so ashamed to put my nose i...

Don't blame the emulation, blame the monitor

Good CRT displays are for pennies these days, so I bought a 17" Samsung Syncmaster (CRT). Those can display at 100hz, which is just double the ST frequency (TOS 102UK), and won't flicker. Boy, some games in Steem are nearly perfect with those screens, but sketchy on LCDs. Two good examples are:...

pasti nag-free

I modified the pasti.dll file so that there would be no message box when it loads (when you start Steem), because it's an annoying nag, when all is said and done.
Should I upload it here, or would it be considered 'unfair' ?

Re: The Great Atari ST Game Survey

Have you played this on the Amiga? I was shocked to see how small the game window was on the atari version in comparison! While the Amiga version lets you see more, the ST version is more true to the arcade original with its vertical screen and field of view. It's a trade off really. Compared to th...

I messed with a l33t OCR program, it seems to have read it pretty well, it got right the codes I tested (had to change some S and B in 5.) Strangely, it had more trouble with the headers, but it got the layout right. Nonetheless, it's without warranty, and just in case you find it useful: A B C D 00...

A Mind Forever Voyaging

A Mind Forever Voyaging is an Infocom text adventure game. The original game had a wheel protection. The protection triggers only when you reach some point. There's a version by The Ace (on Supergau #2, for example). On the disk is included a READ.ME file where he seems to talk about the protection,...

The Questprobe adventures are on an Automation disk, but when trying to run, I always get the 'crash and burn' message, no matter if I switch the TOS. Those adventures are on Automation 248, under the name "Scott Adams Adventure ", and they seem to work: -Spiderman -Human Torch and The Th...

According to French computer magazine Generation 4, it was Lands of Havoc, programmed by Goldrunner legend Steve Bak.
Don't load the game with ideas of another Goldrunner though.
