Re: Magnum TTRAM 256MB boards for the TT 030

Okay thanks. I have tried several combinations. I was able to get 64 and 128MB, but not 256MB. 128 is still awesome! Curiously I get this error when booting with 128MB: WP_20150717_02_12_06_Pro.jpg The system boots and works as normal. Probably without floppy module, but who cares. Maybe I ...

Re: Magnum TTRAM 256MB boards for the TT 030

Hey Simbo, I'd love to take your offer on 8MB STRAM. I will check my board later on today.. However more immediate problem is, Atari System V UNIX crashes on the new 256 MB board. I'm trying to recall and I think there was some requirement for it, like two banks populated (which it is). Could it be ...

Re: Magnum TTRAM 256MB boards for the TT 030

Does anyone have a design that uses soldered on memory chips rather than off the shelve SIMMs? If so I could produce it.

Re: Atari TT030 and system V

It really seems hideously slow, under NetBSD/atari I get something like this: We're both talking about the codesrc thing, right? Current Firmware and tools are here: http://www.codesrc.com/files/scsi2sd/v4.1/ Yeah that's true. I get about 1.5 MB/s on codesrc. I have been talking a lot about it with...

Seriously? That's awesome! Does it also support larger cards like SDHC? That would help a lot with constructing a larger file system.

Re: Magnum TTRAM 256MB boards for the TT 030

Today I've got a 3rd pair of 128MB SIMMs. Original IBM pulled from PS/2 machine. All spec match. Even the voltage of each individual chip is 5V as required.

Only 64MB shows up in Atari.

Well it's official. I can't get any RAM to work with Simbo's prototype magnum card. I always get 64MB max.

Can anyone help source right 128MB SIMMs?

I never had the patience to learn deal with the filesystem utilities myself... I actually did it the hard way resizing existing partitio...

Anyway, I had issues with different SD cards. I would first try a different SD card.

Re: STinG on TT Riebl VME

The card works under ASV and NetBSD. The MAC address is set correctly via rcpcheck.tos which also tests connectivity and passes it. It's just STinG that doesn't work.

Re: STinG on TT Riebl VME

I'm using the classic ETHER.STX module.
The MAC address in Sting comes up as all FF.

If not sting, do I have any other options to get network up under TOS without MINT?

Is there source code of Sting or ether.stx available anywhere?

STinG on TT Riebl VME

Hi,

I'm trying to configure STinG to work on Riebl card on TT, but the port fails to configure.

Any suggestions?

PS
The card works just fine with ASV and NetBSD...

Thanks!

Re: Magnum TTRAM 256MB boards for the TT 030

This doesn't have much more info apart from what Simbo already said.

I concur with Dal, that it would be best to have the SIMMs soldered directly on the board in max amount.

Even so we need to help Simbo find suitable SIMMs.

Re: Magnum TTRAM 256MB boards for the TT 030

Okay so I have a small problem. I was lucky enough to receive a prototype board from simbo. Unfortunately my luck ran our when it comes to finding a suitable memory. I have tried a couple of chips but they don't work. Simbo says that this is because even though the board says 5V, the individual chip...

Re: Magnum TTRAM 256MB boards for the TT 030

Agree on cache for compile. I know people who use TT for Calamus in DTP. These are usually memory hungry and benefit from large cache as well. I finally use TT for Atari SysV Unix, which also is memory hungry. To say that 256 MB is fine for me personally.
