After getting the Mini version, I'd now be interested in buying a full version as well. I'm in.

It seems you are referring to VCS/Atari 2600 cartridges. For these try your inquiry at http://www.atariage.com/
They also have a database with manuals linked to games.

Re: Java vm

From a plain performance point of view, a distinct java->M68K compiler would be more suited.
Java crawled on my Pentium 166Mhz with 16MB RAM in 1998 so I think it will also crawl on a CT60 or Firebee, not even thinking of a stock Falcon or (gosh) STE.

Otherwise please also do not forget to credit Grazey/PHF as the heart of the piece of software is based on his code.

Re: New program: "Serial Disk"

Can't tell on the fault message. It should directly work on Linux if you have the Mono environment installed. Try giving it as an argument to the mono exectuable: $ mono ./serialdisk.exe <<option>> The serial port info should point to a Linux serial port /dev/ttyS0 or something like that. A DOS/Wind...

Atari 520STM with single sided floppy in 1987, my brother bought it. First game seen was Starglider, played Breakout from Happy Computer 10/87 and MacPan First code from myself has not survived, must have been around 1990 in GFABASIC. Re: FlashFloppy vs HxC

FF firmware doesn't support PASTI/STX nor 11 Sector disk images. I have contacted its author and forwarded any info (mainly DrCoolZic's PDF) I had about these two problem, so it should be corrected. As I looked at the code the main problem was with sector gaps. Since this is a "VS" thread...

Re: Boot sector and memory crushing

I never had problems with calling GEMDOS or (X)BIOS from bootsector code. Years ago Grazey/PHF provided me with a skeleton to write bootsectors to floppies. I use it since then. One of my earliest uses was for the Atari Forum Demo bootsector. Source below, exchange the actual bootsector code between...

Many sampled intro musics were also streamed directly from disk. So it is possible you will not find the complete digi track in memory.

Re: Atari ST Game Sound FX Sample Archive?

Not all ST games use sampled sounds. Many just use YM register settings to provide sound effects. This requires disassembly of source code to obtain their values and contexts.

Re: Laser printer for 16/32 Atari

The HP LaserJet 1200 works on my Falcon with NVDI and Atari Works. I am not sure about newer models but as long as there is the Centronics interface and the printer is PCL compatible, it should work. The Centronics is probably the greater problem. I doubt that Centronics->USB will work with Ataris.

Maybe a generic compatibility layer could be provided as an optional AUTO patch?
Something that adds some TOS quirks only on demand to EmuTOS. But no void functions returning values please xD

Re: Was choosing DR for TOS really good solution ?

I think it is quite simple. Atari was looking for a GUi to use in a timespan of about 6-9 months back in 1984. DR had one almost ready, GEM, while Microsoft could not deliver. I am pretty sure the Tramiels did not bother to try getting Mac OS instead. Finally there was no other solution available in...

"Won't work on the ST unfortunately - we are missing Autofeed and Init on the Parallel Port. (OPL2LPT is using the same schematic as this: http://www.raphnet.net/electronique/adlib/adlib_en.php)"

Re: Additional OPL2 sound through parallel port ?

Nice for old PC use, worthless for Ataris as there won't be any software available. Atari ST games have no code that can be rerouted (like the port access with the driver there) nor rewritten (as that patching tool does). They would require driver code from scratch. I would like to see some but as w...

Re: Going into demo creation in 2017?

Saying GFA is not good enough to program any demo in is like saying with 16 colors you can't make good gfx (and there are enough 16 color gems to proof otherwise) So ASM is faster, true, but putting the rest down feels to me like disrespect, sorry. Anybody should be able to make a demo in whatever ...
