Re: MSTE screen flickering after being ran for awhile

OK, new blog entry: I got a new shifter and it works! But I've isolated the problem to overheating since I get some flickering (much less severe than the previous one) only when the case is closed. An open case alleviates the symptoms. So I need to find what causes the system to overheat. Looking fo...

Re: MSTE screen flickering after being ran for awhile

Update, I thought it might be the shifter overheating so I decided to check by putting a heatsink over it. If it took longer to cause the issue, I would have found the culprit. However, the machine never started after that. It powers on but all I get is a black screen and a buzzing sound from the mo...

MSTE screen flickering after being ran for awhile

Hi,
I've got this issue with my mste. After I run it for a few minutes (15-20) the image starts flickering left and right (but not up and down). Any idea what it might be? Also, it seems like my cache chips have an issue since the machine halts when I turn them on.
Thanks in advance.

Re: WIFI for all ataris over serial!

I am pretty sure you can get 38400 with HSMODEM. Anyway, excellent work, this is my next atari project! Any suggestion on where to get the parts etc? Also, is it too hard to make the connections? What is the maximum speed of the device (my MSTE has a VME serial port that IIRC can do 232KBps). And, I...

Re: WIFI for all ataris?

Woohoo, I'm in! Though for the time being with the very limited KA9Q network stack. I'll still have to figure out how to get STinG to work. IMG_2329.JPG Awesome! a $3 wifi solution... who would have thought that possible... :D Only STinG left then, but SLIP is so old and I wonder if they really tes...

Re: WIFI for all ataris?

If you turn off images, which won't look good on an atari anyway you can browse on 10KB/s. 2G on mobiles will try to load a lot more files, such as JS, Fonts etc, which won't work on the atari anyway, so the website becomes a lot smaller than what you'd get on a modern system. Using highwire you wil...

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.8

There is Freedos and Freegem for that though. They need a 16-bit DOS environment, and therefor don't run anymore on modern OS. Only solution i could get them to work is by using dosbox on linux. I am not sure how compatible to TOS/GEM the functions etc are but from what I read, porting applications...

Yes, I used XBOOT 3 as well. I think I used a patched version but it could be I used the original.

Also Xcontrol is simple, plus you only use the control panel for settings once in a while. It's not something you use constantly.

Now I just need to figure out why Highwire doesn't even try to start up... Does anyone have a working Highwire they can zip up for me so I can compare it to what I have? Also does Highwire need a a special filesystem type or something? I'm trying to run it off my TOS boot partition... What's the me...

Re: Powering CT63

The ct63 doesn't provide enough of a load so as for the new PSU to power up. I found that the cheapest psu's will work better with that than the more expensive ones.

Re: MINT: We don't make this easy do we?

I think I can guess why your easymint install failed. You probably didn't create an LNX partition with HDDriver. Easymint won't work without an ext2 partition. I say this because easymint failed on me a few times before I discovered this. Every time after that, all installs went perfectly. EDIT: Can...

As someone who suffered from this, I can only say... this is great. I wish the ct63 was like that, I would still have had a falcon.

Cookies have become more complicated over the years. It might be that CAB no longer supports them. How come you aren't targetting Highwire as your browser? Do you need ssl for the site?

are you sure that a500 with Vampire will be hardware compatible with Atari? Do you know that in the Cyclone FPGA chip on Vampire is still a lot of space left to upload VHDL code for Shifter, Videl, Combel, Yamaha, DSP, ... ? do you know someone needs to create VHDL for those chips?
