Re: RETRO-BRITE...Best Process So Far

tuf, Great, it will work. NOTE: I do NOT use cling wrap. I highly suggest that you never use it! That is the major problem people are doing. It is one of the main reasons for the 'blotching' Give my method a try. I can almost guarantee that it will work if followed properly. Just put on an even coat...

Re: RETRO-BRITE...Best Process So Far

Here in California, USA, it is very difficult to get large qty of hydrogen peroxide in liquid form in that high a percentage. I think you need a license, and work at business that needs it. All we have at retail is 3% in 12oz bottles in the first aid section of a store. I think things are different ...

Re: My Atari STE has had the Retrobright Treatment

ozone is very slow, imo. My process works a bit faster, with more controlled results. And it is cheaper. If you have an Ozone generator please to a comparison. But I'll bet I can do about 150 cases for the cost of OZ generator.

RETRO-BRITE...Best Process So Far

I think figured it all out. I've been doing a lot of Retro-Brite on ST's, and many other cases this way. The all come out perfect! Here is what seems to work best and why. Please read all the way through. Get something called 'Developer' from a beauty supply store. The clerk/cashier/associate/sales-...

Best General Use Bug Free TOS Version?

The topics says it all. But, there is always a But, sorry! Criteria: Any ST to MSTE, Falcon/TT preferred, but unlikely. Will run just about everything. Games at correct speed to applications/utilities that need all the speed available. GEM/TOS/GDOS compatible without any known bugs. I know there are...

Re: psu.why & how to replace the dreaded capacitors in ATARI ST!

Got home and pull put the ASP34-1 bad psu I have. I did some quick multimeter testing on all the major caps. None are bulging, or leaking from under that I can see with out removing them. They all get response from the meter. The only unit I get no response from is a cap in position C2, an orange ca...

Re: psu.why & how to replace the dreaded capacitors in ATARI ST!

I have a coupe dead 1040STF PSU's I would like to bring back to life. It would be my first time doing a re-cap, but they are dead anyway, so no harm if I make a mistake. I do not know what part(s) failed, but this would be a logical first step. I will be following Exxos PSU recap page direction, and...

Re: Original 1040ST needing parts.... doners?

You make a good point. But the only way to find out is to populate the board and see what happens.
I did find a GLUE ic in my parts box, and I have the TOS. So I am missing only 1 square chip.
Is there a diagram with labels the show which TOS rom goes into which TOS socket?

Re: Sick M-STE HELP NEEDED !!! !!!! !!!!

Well I tested 4 additional drives, and the MSTE did not see any of them. I did set the ID to 0 on those drives.
So am thinking there must be something wrong with the controller card. I have a similar card from a STacy, Can I swap the socketed IC's? Or is there something else I should be looking at?

Re: Sick M-STE HELP NEEDED !!! !!!! !!!!

I pulled the drive out of its case and it is a seagate st157N. There appear to be no jumps on the rear. A quick google show that this should be ID 0. I moved the 3 switches on the HD controller card to off and rebooted. HDDiver still does not see it. I do not have a separate controller card I can pu...

Re: ICD ADSpeed STE compatiable with CosmosEx & Dual Boot TOS ??

Looks like the Math co-processor is not installed. In another thread in here, there was a pic of this card with the co-processor installed. It was a Motorola 68881rc16a math co-processor. A quick look for one to buy, only shows 68881rc20's. These are 20mhz, will it work at 8/16mhz? Also it was noted...
