Out of Frequency Range

Hi All,

Finally able to start my CT60/Falcon after over a year, and that's the message I've gotten on 2 different vga monitors!! :x :x

I don't understand. What would cause that, and how do I resolve it?!?!?!?!? :?

Thanks and have a great day one and all!!

stimpy wrote:Have you got the power switch connected to the right CT60 pins?

I have the power supply attached to the ct60, and the hard drive. I turn on the power by the on/off switch on the back of the power supply unit. Nothing.

I don't have any wires from the case attaching to the ct60.

Re: Falcon Will Not Start

Well, calming down after the panic, I realized when I turn on the psu, nothing happens, it doesn't turn on, the case fan does one wiggle and nothing after that. I think the power supply crapped out!!

Do you all agree with my assesment, or am I way off?

Thanks!

Re: Falcon Ports

What can you use the dsp port for? Interfacing directly with the DSP chip. Steinberg made a couple of interfaces for it. One that gives 8 Channel outputs and also a digital interface. So, in other words, unless I'm into making, editing, or whatever, music, then I'm not concern myself with it.....th...

Re: Time Bandit

Will those later versions work on a Falcon straight out of the box? I have Time Bandit, but I haven't had time (no pun intended  ) to try it on my Falcon with Backward 3. Just checked my Falcon compatibility spread sheet. Both Time Bandit v0.96 and v2.0 run on my Falcon030 (fast!), and you...

Re: Falcon Ports

Maybe something like this I found plenty of hits using google. Just search on DBXX (fe)male ribbon connector For sure the easiest way of making those extenders, and you will get the length you want since you can measure, cut & squeeze them together in less than 30 sec. :) So basically the port ...

I need the following port extenders: 1 Enhanced Joystick Port 1 Paralled Printer Port 1 Serial Port 1 DSP Port 1 Falcon to VGA Port 1 MegaST Keyboard Adapter (apprx. 12" long so I can take it out to the back plane) Most of these extenders you can make yourself, without soldering! Most d-sub co...

Re: Time Bandit

Somewhere there was a trained version of Time Bandit, but that only works with early TOS IIRC. Do you have this version, Symoon? I only know about an invincibilty-cheat, which can be found on Floppyshop Uitility Disk 3993. Well, there's a disk patching an original disk I think, but the version I wa...

Re: What can I do with these ST disks?

I don't know if it's the correct place to write this, sorry if it isn't. I'm just wondering : I've got back tons of ST disks and I wonder if these may be useful for some people or not. There are some I really don't know what they are and if they're original (in the "Others" section below)...

Re: Falcon Ports

I'm in bit of a bind. I've recased my Falcon in a big tower case, but now I need to extend all the ports except for 1 enhanced joystic port, the headphone/mic ports, cartridge port, or midi ports. I might be able to help you out on some of these extenders, depending on how long you need them to be....

Re: Falcon Ports

Not really too much work if you have a soldering iron? The problem will be sourcing some of the connectors, specifically the DSP and monitor ones. The 15-pin E-Joystick connector is the same as a VGA one. As for cabling, get yourself some multi core - or if you're more of a resourceful person, hack...

Exactly what connectors do you need? Or you want them all? Which ones have you already done? I want all of them except for the midi and cartridge ports...I have no intention of using those ports at all. If you have any more questions or would like to get in touch, just email me. Thanks Greenious

IDE Splitter?

So a Falcon can't have 2 IDE devices attached internally without modification?? E.g. replace standard cable with cable allowing 2 devices to be connected such as in some modern laptops (same as standard 3.5 inch IDE cable in PC's but 2.5 inch instead). Yes, a Falcon can have two internal ide device...
