Re: WANTED: Mega STE + Hard disk or PC1 or MEGA ST kbd

That item sold for $205 on 16/2/12 and relisted very quickly.

Postage from outside UK+new TOS Roms make that one a no no. It looks very yellow and no evidence of 1.44mb floppy.

It was all boxed though which is nice and there is also peroxide to remove yellowing :)

WANTED: Mega STE + Hard disk or PC1 or MEGA ST kbd

OK I know some of you hoard these things but anyone got a spare Mega STE with hdd for sale? Yellowing is OK but must be complete.

I always wanted a PC1 (yellowed OK but with keyboard)

Hell even just a working regular Mega ST keyboard would help me a lot.

Ta

Re: ATARI ST GEM Desktop looking GUI for Linux/Windows?

Interesting video thanks for the link. I don't know if it's just a Windows skin/theme patch though.

There was some sort of Atari GEM compatible OS from the 90s (forget the name) but trying to keep it as stock Windows as possible, and Linux as a last resort :)

ATARI ST GEM Desktop looking GUI for Linux/Windows?

I knew this was going to be in the wrong area wherever I posted it so apologies and please could a Mod move it to the best place in the forum thanks. Right now that I got that out of the way, does anyone know of any kind of theme/skin for either Linux or Windows (XP/Vista/7) that will transform the ...

Re: Site with details/screenshots/download for every ST art

Thanks Zoggin, that is indeed the one :) I thought Quantum Paint was in the list too, but Googled it and found it at Emuparadise (v1 and v2) http://www.emuparadise.me/Atari_ST_ROMs/Quantum_Paint_v2.00_(1988)(Quantum_Mechanics_London)%5Bcr_Medway_Boys%5D/118913-download Going to dig out the 2mb ST an...

Site with details/screenshots/download for every ST art pack

Hey guys, been racking my brains Googling for old links I lost when my hard drive crashed on PC over Xmas and I had a site bookmarked with every art package known to man, a screenshot, a paragraph of text talking about it and a download link to the program. It had everything from Neochrome to Quantu...

ST Mono emulator interlaced mode

Does anyone have a PRG or .ST of this mono emulator for a real Atari?

It is in interlace mode not the other type that renders down skipping even/odd scanlines. Flickers but looks better!

Re: How to upgrade OLD 520STm from 512K - hard to find info

I've actually found an issue of the magazine which gives a lovely extensive explanation of doing this upgrade to a TOS on disk 520ST, so therefore same for all ST and STM machines (ie no empty sockets to put extra chips in and none of the RAM is socketed either). I'll upload the two pages later on (...

Re: How to upgrade OLD 520STm from 512K - hard to find info

Hmmm the ST and STM are the nicest looking machines of all the standard 'all in one' computer designs of the 80s if you ask me. It's a shame that the piggyback method is nowhere to be seen, I remember reading in one Atari magazine how to do this. It may have been Atari User or ST Amiga Format (combi...

Re: ST Format- Autumn '89

Yeah it is a bit of a shame about the fact you will get in a bit of trouble if you scanned all of ST Format and tried to sell it on a DVD etc because this means nobody is really bothered to do all those many issues of ST Format (ditto for Amiga Format). I know ST Amiga Format has been partially scan...

OK probably not the best place to put this but does anyone have the actual ROM needed to emulate an original 520ST that had no TOS in ROM and actually asks for the TOS Disk like in the following video? That's all I want to do...get that actual requester screen up as I remember seeing it on the first...

Is there a selling games forum area?

Hi I'm going to be having a bit of a clearout and have quite a few boxed ST games all stacked up in various places. However this could take some time as I have 1000s of games to go through for 10s of different home computers from the 80s. So if anyone is looking for any particular games I will be ha...

Re: TURBOST.PRG....The software blitter request?

Thanks to everyone for their attachments :) Will try those out later. In an interesting turn of events I dug out my original ST GEM emulator for the Amiga (hey I liked some of the ST WP packages lol) and that has an archive of Turbo_16.ACC and using a convaluted method managed to get the files from ...

Re: 68000 CPU Accelerator on STE?

I think the best reported speed increase from a dedicated ST 16mhz upgrade card for the old ST/STM/STFM was about 30% approx yes, don't know about how good the Mega STE 16mhz mode is as mine was stuck in mono mode (and nearly fried my SC1224!!) so couldn't try any games at the time (and sold it to s...

Re: Working copy of Gauntlet II wanted please

Going through my huge disk collection from the loft I have found an original disk of Gauntlet 2 (one of the Atari packs not an original US Gold stand alone release) so I'll give that a go...assuming it works with a 2.5mb STFM ha!

TURBOST.PRG....The software blitter request?

Hi, I've got a corrupt disc which used to have a software blitter program on it for speeding up GEM applications, I am 99% sure it was called TurboST.PRG on the disk. Does anyone have this program? If so could someone please attach the necessary PRG file if it's not a problem? I have tried 4 differe...

Re: Early games were much more ambitiously programmed no?

At the time of the ST's launch the 68000 was the ultimate desktop CPU, IBM were stuck with x86 otherwise even they would have migrated probably. The 80186 wasn't any better. And the 80286 at the time was max 12mhz but usually 10/8mhz so it was no match for an 020 card in either a Mac/Amiga/ST. EGA m...

Re: Atari RAM board max capacity 4mb? (MP210A)

Ahhh OK so it's a permanent mod to the STFM board to get 4mb. I will need to fully test my matched pairs of SIMMs before taking the soldering iron to the m/b. I have an STE to try the SIMMS in too before I commit to it :) Am happy with it as it is for what apps I run at the moment, glad the board is...

Atari RAM board max capacity 4mb? (MP210A)

I've got the Marpet MP210A (xtra ram?) SIMM RAM expansion board in an STFM and it works fine with 2x 256kb SIMMs and 2x 1mb SIMMs. I assume you can't mix and match so assume you can't have 3mb via 2+0.5+ST base. But how do I get 4mb? I have 4 1mb SIMMs but if I install them it won't boot and you get...

Re: Early games were much more ambitiously programmed no?

The thing with PC DOS, and ultimately why it was inevitable it would win the war out of the 4 once 256 colour VGA was adopted anyway, was that PCs always always used the CPU and nothing else until 3D cards appeared in the late 90s....bit like a ZX81. So games programmers always wrote for the next ge...
