Re: Will this work for color on the st?

Theoretically yes. All the specs are right, you'd just have to get a 13pin din plug into the st and wire it through to the 15pin hd plug they use for their input. I'd like to see one in action myself before I parted with the $$$ though, but being from eprey at least preypal should cover you if it do...

Re: VGA TO TV RCA S VIDEO On Atari Falcon

Hi PPera, So there is a 19pin RGB > Svideo lead available somewhere. I am just covering options for future purchase of a projector. Thanks Hey Ash if you're considering buying a projector, then unless you really want RGB output, you can use a standard VGA type for output. I don't know what the RGB ...

mikro - if you're doing it in PureC I'm pretty sure the Gem library used to compile the Gem LHarc 3.xx may have had the support for it. Now what was it called!? Hmmm .... memory hazy ... I'm pretty sure it was called eGem or Enhanced GEM with a file like e_gem.220 Clouds clear from head: Enhanced GE...

lol. I know what you mean. I would pick up, just have to work out transport at the moment. I've seen lots of neat stuff for sale up in Sydney but unfortunately the drive is too far. Some stuff is ridiculously expensive, some really cheap. Hmmm ... will have to check out the finances :)

There are some brilliant bargains to be had on eBay at the moment. Mainly as people are getting put off and aren't looking. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/External-floppy-disk-drive-for-Atari-ST-Cumana_W0QQitemZ160314826425QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_3?hash=item160314826425&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&...

that's easy. when I wanted to get a spectre 128 and a discovery cart I worked my ass off picking raspberries. Berries aren't so bad but the job started at 8pm, went through to 8am and basically i sat in front of a conveyor belt picking earwigs and other assorted crap out of the berries. Need I also ...

Re: About saying 'pretends to be English' :-)

It's amazing how many different versions of english that there are. Up here in Australia we use what is generally known as 'British English' although most of the english teachers I work with (no I am NOT a teacher!) have a very limited grasp of the language as a whole, and their grammar is shot. We ...

Jookie - female ones at least ... That's the people at the qconnect that Greenious showed. 1.65 is about 0.70 euros at the moment, so not too bad! I'm thinking of getting a batch of the female ones to have anyway. cheers karlm. ================ Hi Karl We only have the female connectors in stock but...

Re: Atari Shielding

Cheers Alex. I was under the impression that it was there to reduce what it outputs, but wanted to make sure. As I stated in the post, the new 'case' will be more a skeleton, and as such I was wondering about the shielding, as skeleton frames have no shielding. I know the RF modulator needs to be sh...

Atari Shielding

Hi all. I'm considering building a new case (yes building, not modifying) for my Falcon. Now, all the Atari's I own have a serious amount of shielding around them. My question is - how necessary is it? The case I'm considering building will be more of a skeleton rather than a typical 'case' so that ...

I made a batch of TOS 4.04 a long time ago, but I am out now, and it is unlikely I will do any more. The chips, at the time atleast, was a b*tch to locate, and it is indeed a single chip. A 16bit 4mbit PLCC. (27C4096) Greenious - I remember you told me of a bunch of substitutes for this ages ago - ...

Frk - you must have been reading my mind, I finally got around to doing exactly the same thing the other night. Sounds like the guy might have clipped the legs off the old chip when removing it, and the old leg is still stuck in it (pin 20.) Without the ground, the rest of the chip will most likely ...

Hi spiny. The only thing I can thing of is the 16mhz patch that used a 74xxx ic and about the same amount of wires. Someone has obviously used a GAL to program some sort of logic that allows 8/16mhz switching. The one I am thinking of is here: http://atari4ever.free.fr/hardware/drives.html Not exact...

Re: ATARI ST IDE INTERFACE V2.00 & FLASHABLE TOS EXPANSION

Nice work kym - might have to get a pcb and gal off you at some stage :) So my real question is why did you convert from 2 chip to 6 chip for the TOS? ppera - do you know if TOS4.0x already has the hi-lo byte swap inbuilt? I know that SCSI from that era is much quicker than IDE, but was wondering if...

Re: Swapping Megafile Drive?

Depends on the megafile I guess. If it's a 44, then it's scsi and the sh204 (iirc) is a mfm/rll drive. Sounds like your best bet actually. However, if the megafile drive is shot, then hooking it up to another adapter is probably not going to help things.... moderators - this could be shunted into ha...

Re: I made a Plinth.

Forget about filling the holes Aly - get some plastic screw caps. These just belt into the end of the phillips head screws and leave a little domed head. You can either use the same color as the material or a contrasting one. The best thing about these is that you can remove them if necessary to dis...

Thanks Aly - but the problem is not the drives for me, but the interfaces. That's why I thought the MegaFile might be good for an old ST as Links are rarer than rocking horse crap over here :(
