Re: ST Format magazine

Thanks, I think page 104 (the middle Sensible Soccer page) is an example where there's some cropping evident. It's not too bad, but not exactly archive quality stuff :/ Well, it's only the page number that's been excised, which has little or no impact on reading experience at all. Nice job! Is ther...

Re: ST Format magazine

Not too shabby at all, Jez. The issue looks great, and if you didn't know it was a 'wide-boy' (love that phrase) then you wouldn't notice anything amiss. Are there any pages in particular you were worried about?

Re: Whats wrong with todays games?

I'd say have a look at indie games man, those are coded by individuals or teams as in the early days of game dev. Several titles are pure gameplay gems, either sold or free. For example : Excellent free indie games : Cave Story : http://www.cavestory.org/ Hydorah : http://www.locomalito.com/hydorah...

Re: My Atari collection destroyed

This is terrible news but like everyone here has said, the most important thing is that you and your family are alive. I'd gladly swap everything I own to have my mother come home from hospital. She has refused to eat or drink since going in six weeks ago and spends all her time sleeping now. She i...

Re: ST Format magazine

It's a shame to see even the most inconsequential content sacrificed to the craft knife, even if it is the edge of a photo or advert. It's a shame that A3 scanners are so expensive, otherwise I'd convince the wife that one would be essential for our work! Still, if A4 is the only way, it is better t...

So is it just whitespace that is lost when you trim?

Re: Whats wrong with todays games?

Banding all of 'today's games' together in one bracket is a mistake. Sure, the mainstream, big budget, AAA titles are mostly dull brown tinted, FPS, overly macho, shoot-mans snorefests, but if you dig a little deeper, there is a rich vein of games crafted by passionate developers that will provide t...

Best of luck rebuilding your life, chap, and I hope the insurers are helpful to you.

:) I think it was last year when I contacted AM and others, it was some time ago, but basically if anything was water marked, they didn't want it, no matter how small the mark was. Mine are just a small note on the bottom of the page where the page numbers are kinda thing, not exactly "spoilin...

Nice work, Jez! Do you have a scanner big enough for the oversized issues? This seems to be a sticking point for a lot of people.

I will have put them on dvd for people, I don't have access to usenet, even so, it would take an age to upload them all. Will try and sort it out ASAP. I would be happy to upload them to my host. Let us test their claim of 'unlimited' storage and bandwidth, shall we? :D Have you contacted ...

£55 plus postage, which would be £5 in the UK, more if you are further afield. I can throw in the power adapter (UK obviously) for an extra £5 as it is quite heavy.

Thanks, hey they're some great videos on your youtube channel, I've just suscribed and I'll have a watch of some other ones. Do you get much out of doing the vids from adsense of anything? It must be quite time consuming and take some quality editing software.. I know you'd want a full version but ...

The HxC has been sold, is anyone interested in the Ultrasatan? I would much rather sell it to someone on here and know it is going to a good home than flog it on eBay!

If you are in the UK I would be happy to let it go for £45 including postage.

Thanks for the interest, M1d1man098! To be honest, I was expecting a lot more for it, as it is in 'as new' condition. If you can stretch to £50 you've got a deal.

Re: My ST collection

Forgot to add, I'm a bit curious as to why my 'for keeps' 520STE has a black power switch when my one years back and the other two systems I own have grey ones? The serial number is a lot lower on it so maybe it's an older design. I opened it to swap the RAM for the new 4MB symms but doesn't look l...

For sale: Ultrasatan

Hello everyone, I need to raise some funds to help build a PC so I am reluctantly selling these two bits of kit. First up its the Ultrasatan: £55 plus postage. http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn156/stickhead_bucket/Photo10-06-2013214227.jpg Then the HxC SD floppy emulator: [SOLD] They are both in...

If your budget will stretch that far, I would suggest one of each, then you have a machine for every demo. If you really only want to get one, I recommend an STE for compatibility with the later, really impressive stuff.

I would LOVE to come to this, especially as Wolverhampton is an old haunt of mine, but I have two assignments due in on the 20th, so I know I will be totally swamped. :( If only I was organised and didn't leave everything to the last minute!

A brilliant idea, Pheeel! I'll subscribe to that for sure.

The earliest ST titles are something I know very little of (I jumped aboard the good ship Atari around 1988 iirc) so it will make for some interesting reading.
