Re: GamebaseST Development

That's a 2 from me too.

An awesome piece of software that was a joy to use. I've only recently stopped using it because I got a Floppy Emulator for my ST and now have access to (almost) every game under the sun on real hardware.

What kind of new development are you thinking of?

Re: struggling with sprites on Stos

Do you have the manual? If not, this might help:

GET SPRITE pages from the manual:

http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn15 ... TE_2-1.jpg

Sounds like you need to do some work with the sprite editor first.

Well, it's chemistry really.

And Joust deserves a mention. The feeling of inertia is great, especially when combined with the wing flap mechanics.

Re: what physics games there are on the Atari?

Reading the thread title, Exile came to mind. Seems to have gravity, weight, inertia. Is it really physics though? Or just clever coding?

The best thing was that you could go to Google maps and click 'Quest' to see it in all its 8-bit glory! Redditch has never looked so cool!

@Sh3-rg do you not consider it good journalism to ask knowledgeable people when researching a topic?

@bullis1 Oids was originally on Mac.

Looking forward to this article! Well done for convincing RG to add more ST content!

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but I too am looking for a pair of games. One of them was an odd 3D puzzle game where you play a sort of hacker trying to help your girlfriend break into a building. In the computer, various security devices are represented by 3D objects and you;re flying through a...

As a way of making computing accessible to the masses it was exceptional. Kids up and down the UK now had a realistic Christmas present to nag their parents for ("I can do my homework on it, Mum!"). My first taste of computing came via the Acorn Electron, but my friend had a rubber keyed 4...
