if i'm correct, it only has 4 levels and should have 8 . the game is finished but ends far too early. the amiga port + arcade proves this. i'm curious as to why later levels were left out.

It is possible that FloImg has a small buglet there, but again it could never get the geometry right on 100% of the cases. So, just enter the disk geometry manually in this case, using 82 tracks. already tried that. ended up in same scenario only difference being faulty image was 820 KB as opposed ...

Worst case is when a disk has a left-over data from his "previous life". Say, you wrote a 10/82/2 image to a disk, then you overwrote it with 10/80/1, or with 9/80/2, etc. In both cases there are tracks remaining from the previous image. hi ijor would not ticking "format" option...

I tried that 82 track Turrican image and all was OK with writing and running and reading it. ppera, you may want to investigate "tosec" turrican image further. i was able to make disk from it & read back to PC successfully but... new image, from read back, is missing data ---> 800 KB ...

i was able to transfer & read back the turrican ii image. the blank disk i used was, indeed, bad.

ijor wrote:What he describes sounds as track 81 being reformatted as track 82 (because his drive probably can't do 83 tracks).

i'm not complaining, i can still do 82 :D

well, i guess i didn't fully test my floppy drive's potential. ppera, with your imaging tool, it seems i'm able to write/read disks with 82 Tracks at 10 Sectors/track. that's good, huh? now, if i try to write a from an image with parameters: 10 / 83 / 2 FloImg will allow me to write successfully ......

well, i can write up to 80 Tracks at 10 Sectors/track. interesting case with Turrican II... i was successful writing the image to disk but had a problem reading it back to PC. "ZxFloP-B" was indicated by FLoImg when image was accessed and it is 880KB ! image has parameters: 80 Tracks at 10...

i'd like to take full advantage of the ability to specify, using FloImg, what Tracks & Sectors/track to read off disks. but if i'm limited to just 80T & 9S/T then it's pointless? perhaps i should just stick with whatever default specifications given to me by FloImg and rip an image in both ....

FloImg from ppera's site is great, and you might want to have a look here too... http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/x3peri_mental/STIMAGE2.htm i've used FloImg many a times. 90% success rate i'd say :) but it does have limitations with protected disks. i'm trying to image a 3 disk set for Axe of R...
