Re: hanging

My TT keyboard and PeST-connected mouse work fine. Boot v2.02. Sometimes I get that annoying key repeat but it can be cured by hitting any key so not a big issue, really.

Re: TOS Apps unstable in Aranym?

How do I set trucolor backgounds for jinnee? I've been seeing screenshots of jinnee with really nice backdrops online however when I do it, the icon labels disappear. I really want to use jinnee but this problem annoys me to no end I don't use MyAES but I seem to remember it's a known issue with Ji...

Re: Firebee and old soft

(video is still slow, People probably say that because they use 32-bit modes as they think more is better. But it's not. 16-bit means 50% less traffic on the flex-bus (CPU->FPGA) which is the real bottleneck. I was intrigued by this so I tried the 16bit mode on my FireBee. I can't say that I've not...

Re: What is the latest Papyrus version?

But what is the last version that will work on a 8+3 file system STE? I have a Papyrus X and it is all long filename so I assume was ment for the Falcon (does TT do long file names?) I need an english version that will run on my mega STE 4mb I don't think Papyrus X will be happy with 4MB anyway. I ...

Re: Thing 1.50 crashes

Is this program, thing 1.5 or later, still available anywhere? It was on AtariForge, which has been down for a while. I'm not sure it's available anywhere else yet, but people are bound to have sources and binaries of it (edit: see this post: http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?p=335947#p33594...

Useful stuff, Thorsten. I only tested the programs quickly on my Firebee and unfortunately spdview.prg froze it. Running it with the 68k emulator works though, and the other two programs ran fine as they are.

To my knowledge all the sources in TOPP have been added to this repository https://github.com/ggnkua/Atari_ST_Sources or https://bitbucket.org/ggnkua/atari_st_sources or https://gitlab.com/ggnkua/Atari_ST_Sources (sorted by language, author) Great, didn't know that. Everything FreeMiNT-related was moved to GitHub, including SpareMiNT: https://freemint.github.io/sparemint/sp ... nload.html
But don't expect anything up to date; the old SpareMiNT repo was kept for historical reasons. It's not maintained.

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.9

I must admit I have a hard time understanding why some people seem to want EmuTOS to be a perfect clone of some specific version of TOS when any TOS you may wish to run on any machine/emulator you may have is floating about on the Net. Beats me.

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.9

Why is EMUTOS called EMUTOS ??? If I am right it is called EmuTOS because its main purpose was to be replacement for the original TOS-es in EMUlators and clones because of the Copyrights. So, it is EMU comes from EMUlate... but it is a bad emulator as it cannot "reproduce the function or actio...

Re: NVDI & character mapping

Unicode is supported in NVDI 5 (not in 3). Thats possible. I was just looking at TOS.HYP, where some of the relevant functions are reported by available since NVDI 3. But i'm actually using NVDI 5.03, so that is not problem. And in general, output works, just that vqt_char_index() does not. Troll: ...

Thanks for the hint, but i have that program already ;) Also most other Font related utilities. Re: Trying NetSurf on Atari TT

Out of curiosity: how much time does it take to load the atari-forum.com frontpage? Just so I can compare with my Firebee. It takes about 28 seconds. Much faster than the TT with 5 minutes. So, the loading rate of the NetUSBee is not the major problem on the TT, the low speed comes from the poor 68...

Peter, as explained above, the problem is the lack of documentation. I suspect you can't reverse engineer such complex pieces of hardware.

Guillaume, I feel your pain, but just to be fair to NetSurf it has to be said that it is actually pretty fast. It's just that it does so much more than any other Atari browser (particularly with Javascript on) that any kind of comparison is unfair and doesn't make much sense. Even on my FireBee I co...

Re: PH Gmap - Google maps, Street View, Routes, GPX & more

Does your application register with the AV server by sending the AV_PROTOKOLL message? If not, that is probably where the problem is. You need to let the AV server know that you support and/or use quoted filenames. Yes, it does. And I assume you've read section 15.1.1 "AV protocol, Quoting in&...

v1.29 is on your FireBee MiNT setup. You got it together with your FireBee.

Yep. And there's even a nifty application to switch between the two so you don't have to edit config files.

It would have been quite confusing to call it 1.28, since it was released about 15 years after 1.29 :)
And wasn't TOS 3.x released before TOS 2.x?
