Re: Teradesk Redraw Issue

My take is this: Change it to flying dialogs instead, sure you do not get real-time redraw with that. Also you are moving a Teradesk object (dialog box) and the icons are under control of teradesk, so Teradesk should issue itself a redraw for the icons. Will do it and report it back. But if this fu...

This will show the Parent back arrow and allows to close directly windows with closer instead of going backward like on standard TOS desktop.

That's what I have already and it's not working. Is this option working for you?

Does that mean that multitasking is disabled when GEM=ROM?

Isn't the GEM in ROM incapable of multitasking?

Closing wndows with Teradesk 4.07

Is there a know change with the latest (V.4.07) Teradesk with regard to the closing of windows? To close a window with the close button I have to travel all the hierarchy until I reach the root drive. Before, it closed the window directly (like the "Close window" menu option does). Or am I...

Re: ToolsDaemon for GEM?

There are several utilities that allow launching a program from a menu, like Taskbar or Start Me UP. As for launching a program from the desktop menu, the only one I know of is AtMenu, which, from memory, might only run under MagiC.

I've found a nasty bug in 2048: it crashes if I try to edit any of the editable fields in the Preferences. It works fine with the 1.2 version. This is with the V4E version.

Re: Replacing the Teradesk color icons?

I know this is a really old thread, but I just tested out these icons in Teradesk and they don't look anywhere near as good as in the screenshot (mine seems to be missing any grey shading) I guess the screenshot is in 256 colours? I'm using 16 :) Might be because you don't use the NVDI palette. The...

Teradesk only accepts monospaced fonts (like GDOS fonts, Courier, or any font with 'mono' in the name).

Re: Recommended PDF readers for TOS & MINT?

The OS requirements seem steep. It's not clear if it's TOS 4.04 only... Yes, zView needs a modern system (well, by Atari standards). I uses advanced AES and [N]VDI features. So maybe reading of PDF's is only practical on TT's and Falcons... PDF is a very demanding format. Even a simple file may be ...

When I move a window, sometimes there is corruption left on the background image that is redrawn by AES. Re: MINT and Falcon

Is it possible to install MINT on any partition, for example H: or U:? I understand that this partition needs to be created as a LNX partition. You can't install on U: because it is a pseudo drive created by the system (MagiC actually adopted this 'Unified Drive' approach from MiNT). As already men...

So is MINT something I can run parallel with TOS and Magic6? Or do I need to have a MINT only system? You can certainly install MiNT alongside MagiC (TOS being in ROM it's always there) and boot into either of them (or even TOS) by using a traditional boot manager. Both OSes are executed from the A...

Re: MINT and Falcon

MiNT (known as FreeMiNT nowadays) is an operating system originally from Atari and later released as free software and still developed by volunteers. One could describe it as a multitasking TOS with some (good) Unix compability. MiNT and MagiC are mostly compatible in their TOS-like behaviour, and d...
