Re: Joystick testing thread

Yeah - what I said :-)
DONT'T skip D-Pad with space!
Just press up/ left (can't remember clearly at the moment) as requested.
You will be asked for up/down/left right afterwards.
If you skip d-pad you have exactly the problem you mention.

Re: Joystick testing thread

You say something like 'skip d-pad' most likely (as you don't have one).
Just go through it - questionairy about up/down/left/right will follow.

Thanks for the follow up.
Specially the knowledge of the real type number used is of value.

Drag soldered?
Try pin by pin - specially if it‘s ROHS.

Re: SDRAM board

I‘m using 1uF capacitors for both (Winbond 32MB and Alliance 64MB) while Alliance 32MB are fine with 0.1uF.
Cleaning them with IPA afterwards from Flux.

Re: SDRAM board

The 6T can pass 150-160MHz (at least this is what happens in my case), but some problems around 130MHz (might be solveable with clock phase). 167MHz with the 7ns version is theoretically not possible als they are specified for 7ns -> 143MHz. The 7T I'm having here (but didn't have had any time to so...

Or use one of the HUBs (Sorgeligs or mine) with PCB Board connection - this is quite stable

I can offer you the same - but as written above: No guarantee.
Already measured it defect? Otherwise it's maybe on cable side (tried different cable?).

Re: [Linux Kernel] Bug Report

Yeah, rebaseing brings a lot of checkin's with it :-) - I know .... OK, I'll give it a try with git bisect and try to figure out _your_ tags / checkins before :-) config file for MiSTer should be a good starting point checking the logs in detail. > And the master branch for MiSTer is called.. surpri...

Re: [Linux Kernel] Bug Report

Sorry not to be preceise enougth - it's M41T81 chip. (Can't provide kernel log at the moment - sorry - not even in the area to my MiSTer - Monday again) I'm just lost with your tag naming - eg. release_20190119 (Linux Image of this release is working), but your tag names are: v4.12-rc5 v4.12-rc4 v4....

[Linux Kernel] Bug Report

I've started now a new thread about bugs in the Linux Kernel ..... Looks like I've found one .... As I've run out of RTC Boards (sell the relatively seldom) I decided to assemble some more .... Assembled two - both not working .... another 3 ones .. also not working .... well either I'm too dump to ...

Re: Repairing the MicroUSB connector?

You can use a Multimeter and a normal MicroUSB to USB-A cable. One side on the Port A ond the other one on the PCB directly (you can place the probe to the pads where the MicoUSB is soldered). Yes - thight - but will work. Or cut the USB-A and connect one wire to one probe and use a needle (with the...

Re: Repairing the MicroUSB connector?

Hi Newsdee, I've already exchanged some MicroUSB on other boards, but not on the DE10. Basically I think it should be possible. Major problem: I didn't have found any BOM from the DE10, so I don't know the exact type of MicroUSB used (they are using one with THT at the back, while I normally use one...

Re: Local Sellers for MiSTer Expansion Boards

Have a look to the leading post - BUT: At the moment it's not clear which way the path will go - from the checkins in the github it might become a 128MB module not a 64MB one. So keep patient (as we all do), let Sorgelig do his job and as soon as the final decision has been done I'm sure that some o...

Re: SDRAM board

No - why do you think so?
At the moment Sorgelig is thinking about exchanging the 256MBit SDRam chip with a 512MBit one with the same footprint afaik.

Re: SDRAM board

It will be either 32MB (256MBit) OR 64MB (512MBit) - not both together. (How do you count ~700?) 1GBit Chips are only available as BGA - this will cause (at least) new board, 4Layer and big soldering problems for normal people. And I'm also not sure (have not count) it we would have enought address ...

I've had also searched for a full intergrated one ... basically found one from AD (would hve to check again) - but if I remember right this needed some kind of clock (don't ask me for the purpose at the moment - can't remember :) ) Just checked - it's ADV7125 . 6.0: Switch for the fan is gone agin it's not gone. It's added. You can use either 0R resistors or use the jumper/switch. Has to be too less coffee before answering :D @Sorgelig: in the Schematics you refer to R beeing 240R or 300R - have you done some calculations about the wave resistance for the...

What kind of ‚special mini program‘?
The question is too generic that anyone can give you an answer.

Inside a core?
On the Arm? (so a Linux program)

Re: Local Sellers for MiSTer Expansion Boards

Hunting numbers? I'll do some if I ran out of 5.5PCB's :-) and not before. It's again some small step further, but not a big jump as from the 3.1 to the 5.2. Changes between 5.5 / 5.6 / 6.0: 5.5 - 5.6: Some pullups on the USB3 connector (nobody using till now) / switch to manually switch on/off the ...
