Re: ScummVM running on FrameBuffer

Totally lost in getting the resolution right. I have ScummVM in a small window. A lot of changes to the ScummVM_2_0_0.sh file just result in a message about can't get a resolution of 640x480....

Any ideas? what is generally the advised setting in the .sh file and the Mister.ini?

Thanks!

Re: ScummVM running on FrameBuffer

So do you need to move files into different folders to be able to launch? Not games, just the bare ScummVM?

EDIT: Never mind - it was the VGA_SCALER=1 - i've never put that to 1 and so always had a very different experience through VGA than HDMI! All working now, thanks for the help.

Re: ScummVM running on FrameBuffer

Is there a recommended way to install this?

I downloaded the pack from Github. I ran the script and it did install something. After running the 2.0.0 sh script it just is stuck on the start ScummVM. Any ideas?

Thanks

Coco3 Core

Anyone have any experience with the Coco3 core for MiSTer? I wonder if the joystick support is currently functional or not? Seems that I can't get it to work, maybe just me.

Thanks.

Did you try to load tiroms file from the bin menu? Does that work?

Re: Gameboy core

So mine - works - here's how:

1. Make sure the folder is called GameBoy
2. put the boot1.rom in that folder
3. Select Gameboy color from the menu of the gameboy core.

That's works here.

If not check it's the correct bios file

Re: Combining cores

I'm working through the MiST tutorials, but I needed to get more of a grounding in Verilog. I'm getting there slowly. There's a good site call 8bitworkshop.com It's got an IDE environment which is pretty sweet!! You know what I with though - there was some kind of book explaining it ALL kind of like...

So has anyone got Sword of Ianna working on the MiSTer? I'm not sure Dany was referring to that.

Re: Combining cores

So what I meant with the CPC Plus was the hardware was there but it came too late to get development. Would have been great to see more what it could have done. I've been aware of TSConf for a good many years, and it's great to see it on the MiSTer, I do like it. But since it's completely Russian it...

Re: Ghosts'n Goblins on MiST

I've been playing Ghosts'n Goblins on the MiST, really enjoying it. I thought I'd fire up the Retropie for the sound. Oh MY!! The input lag in comparison is terrible! I wouldn't have know if I hadn't have played the actual version on the MiST!

Re: MSX core

Dany - thanks for your help on Ianna!!

Trying it out unfortunately I get "This Megarom file does not support 1Chip-MSX"!! so maybe not possible.

I might still be able to get it working on my real msx though...

MSX setting for large MegaRoms

Anyone tried to get the game Sword of Ianna working? this rom is >700kb so not sure how it's supposed to work. This is a general question to any forum about MSX really, since I haven't been able to get it working on the real hardware either.

Thanks.

Re: Combining cores

Sorgelig - yes and no. Every old 8-bit (probably 16-bit too) had it weirdness and limitations. That's good, but also it would be good to have a slightly less limited version. Personally I think the Amstrad 6128 with Sprite support was at about the level I would have like to see developed more. Simpl...

Re: BBC Micro

Just for info I did try it. First you are right the mmb file works if just renamed to vhd, and NO it won't write back to it if it's the primary SD card - it has to be the secondary. Same with the MiST, except the MiST doesn't give the option for a second sd slot.

Re: BBC Micro

Ok - after faffing around with it all day, I can confirm that you CAN write to a disk in this core. But it needs to be an MMB file located on a second sd card in the expansion board. The Beeb.mmb file contains 4 virtual disks - below is a short description of some commands to type for navigation: *....

Re: FX CAST Atari ST core

I have to say through VGA and separate sound output this core is VERY good. It runs better than the version on the MiST, from a video output perspective. The only thing missing is support for hard disks which that one has. This core actually makes me like an ST, which I don't really have with my rea...

Re: BBC Micro

Is it possible to save anything in this core? Ideally it would be possible to save listings typed in basic back to some sort of storage. For me these cores are about more than just playing old games, but also learning about original programming

Ok so I replaced BOTH the rom files - including the 99aGrom.bin - that seemed to work. The file size is 252kb but it works fine. Now I'll get on and try and do a game rom.

Re: TI-99/4A on Mister (based on Speccery's)

Any ideas what I may be doing wrong? I have the repo downloaded: https://github.com/greyrogue/ColecoVision_MiSTer/tree/ti994a I am trying to run the 'create-misterrom.cmd'. However the file I get is 232kb in size - not 182. And it doesn't work. I'm at a loss now because I can't really change much el...

I installed Windows 95 from the 22 virtual floppies a couple of days ago!! Graphics performance is pretty bad. A good curiosity at this stage but not much more. Wolfenstein 3D seems to work pretty well though.
