Re: Help with Flair Paint

The version I have ran fine on my actual hardware back in the days; a 520ST (1.02 or 1.04 I think). But it completely refuses to work on my newer 1040STE (1.62). I currently only have the files available, but if you want me to, I can make an .MSA image of my disk. But don't think it makes any differ...

Re: Hatari AVI recording.

It is possible to convert the file in VLC. Go to Media/Convert/Save. There you can encode it to H264, an uncompressed AVI or something that your editing software supports.

Re: Took a chance on a french stf with broken upper case, i feal really lucky

btw Cogweasel, what's wrong with your keyboard? The right Shift key is not working, I think I removed the keyswitch and used it to replace another non working switch. But can't quite remember, was a long time ago and haven't open up the box since then. Have a feeling there was some other damage als...

Re: Took a chance on a french stf with broken upper case, i feal really lucky

except the missing key, all are original parts, i didn't replace anything except this one key. But i know where to find some of the needed parts (jay retro computer has a complete stfm small button case for example, there is a little damage on the top but nothing as heavy as the damaged mine had, a...

I really should tidy up my STE; the keyboard should probably be replaced and the case got some cracks. Where did you get hold of spare parts?

Re: Atari ST hardware based coin-ops

I did an interview with an retro game coder recently and actually asked about some claims about his projects, coming from ACE. They turned out to be bogus and he had no idea where they got their information from .. :)

I pretty much stick to PNG, but NEO and JPG can be useful at times also... and it's always nice to have JPG quality settings :)

Finally got hold of the last research information so I could finish my video about Typhoon Thompson on the Atari ST. Took forever, research is a pain :D. Would love to hear what you guys think of it, have a peek when you have the time. https://t.co/muq0MwjxWb Thumb YouTube Typhoon Thompson.jpg

Re: New feature: YPbPr/RGsB output

This could be excellent news for me! Been tempted to buy a MiST for a while, but the lack of an easy way to record video from it has put me off a bit. This might make things easier. I think YPBPr should be capturable with my Avermedia LGP... possibly at least. Any plans of selling the cables?

Re: NEW USB Host Controller via ACSI

Then I'm afraid I have no further idea how to debug this from afar. :-( No worries, its working well enough for me to transfer my old disks. Thanks for all the help! I think running the post mortem with more than one run. i.e. just BigDOS and no USB/CJAR etc. Will probably have a look at that event...

Re: NEW USB Host Controller via ACSI

I have written one, YAART: See http://atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=30110. Scroll down to find the latest version 0.2.0. Also in an STE you can try and swap the RAM modules and see if this makes a difference. I have run 10 passes with no errors. There is software that you can run on your...

Thanks for your reply czietz! I can't say I fully understand everything you are saying. Re: NEW USB Host Controller via ACSI

You could use a "post mortem" analyzer such as http://www.umich.edu/~archive/atari/Utilities/postmort.arc to learn more about the details of the crash/reset. If for example the crash always occurs at the same address this might point to the cause of it all. Didn't know this existed, thank...

Re: NEW USB Host Controller via ACSI

O.k, I can't repro any of this on my STE with TOS 1.62 or TOS 2.06. So this is dropping off my list. Given the same happens without the USB drivers and just BigDOS there's obviously something else going on that isn't related to the USB code at all. Yupp, sounds reasonable. If anyone else have any t...

Re: NEW USB Host Controller via ACSI

I think you mean 2 bombs on cancel, then reset ? Well once I click Cancel two bombs pop up very briefly, its hard to see if there's two or three of them, then the ST resets. Oh, you could try BigDOS on it's own too without any USB drivers just to see what it actually does do on it's own. Hmm... int...
