Re: A small curiosity of 520ST music :)

That's some really awesome music there yerzmyey! I remember toying with this idea myself, back in the 90s when I dabbled in MIDI music a bit. What would happen if you recorded Spectrum or ST sounds and just process the crap out of it or use recording as a way to get many more channels to play around...

Re: NEW USB Host Controller via ACSI

If you don't make it complicated like I did with an internal install (which btw turned out awesome ;)) it's just a question of plugging this into your ACSI port, supplying it with power (one USB port) and then plugging in your USB flash drive. Drivers, yes, you will need to boot off a disk with tho...

Re: NEW USB Host Controller via ACSI

How easy is it to get this working on my Swedish 1040 STE? I want to be able to rescue some old disks from my STE using a USB stick and your USB controller seems to be perfect (recommended by Troed) ... I am decently computer savy, but I am no hardware enthusiast and often find myself getting pretty...

Re: Transfering ST disks to PC with ST Recover

As said, trying another drive is what can help a most. Another means - 4-5 drives :D I had luck with that because was servicing computers. Ah, almost forgot - cleaning disk surface - look threads in SuperCard Pro Copier section about it. Yes, I know, but I just wondered if there is anything else to...

Re: Transfering ST disks to PC with ST Recover

I will probably find some use for your extract files function, to recover at leasts parts of a disk :) . BTW is there anything to do when you have trouble reading a disk both with a Atari ST and a PC floppy drive? Like some magical hardware that doesn't cost an arm and a leg  Ah, thanks for th...

Re: Transfering ST disks to PC with ST Recover

Things are moving along, slowly but steadily. Recovered a bunch more disks this weekend. Tried AtariZolls Floimgd, but it seems like ST Reocver is better at recovering at least some bad sectors. What is called a desynchronized data in ST Recover, don't know what that means, but it seems that the pro...

Re: Transfering ST disks to PC with ST Recover

Yes, it will work if your floppy drive can access them. And of course if data us still healthy there. I considered it always as bad idea - on such tracks data density is extremely high because it is near to disk center. So, unreliable. Special driver is not only for tracks over 80, but all - trust ...

Re: Transfering ST disks to PC with ST Recover

Uhm... well.. the person to blame would be me. But of course I put the blame on my parents for not giving me more pocket money to buy more disks  ST Recover uses a special floppy driver to access tracks beyond 80, it works very well. Had it read up to track 83 without any problems on some d...

Re: demogroups galaxy

Please send in everything you find :) So far no trace of the Rickys Hand demo, but I do have some unlabelled disks, so I am crossing my fingers. I did find my own first sample demo; "Miami Vice", it's pretty awful  ... but maybe include it for preservations sake? I am also coming...

Transfering ST disks to PC with ST Recover

I just started transferring all of my old ST disks to .ST files using ST Recover. I am using my mums old computer, since mine hasn't got an FDC. I have transferred quite a few disks and surprisingly enough it's going pretty well, I am really liking ST Recover. But of course there's disks that contai...

Re: Atari re-entrant

GFA basic was fairly powerful as well, and pretty easy to use. Even I managed to figure it out without a manual. I started several game projects, but I think I only ever finished one of them. Also made some simple sample demos in GFA, remember making my own sample sequencer that saw some use in the ...

Re: demogroups galaxy

We did release a sample demo called "Ricky's Hand", but the disk was super über hyper formatted to make room for all the samples :) . So I think my disk was lost really early on, but I will have a look, I am actually currently transferring all my ST disks to PC. I know the demo was spread,...

That's correct, if two people constitutes a group :) , I am Mr Flash BTW. Didn't know we were part of Demozoo, awesome! I did see our demo on pouet.net a while back when I did some searching for the fun of it, I was quite surprise to find it there.

Re: demogroups galaxy

Cool! Nice idea! I can contribute with a Zenit logo, check your PM. We were a very small Swedish group, only I and my friend Filip. We only released two or maybe three simple demos, as I can recall it. Never did any cracking. We were however involved in the Atari copy party (or as we called them; ST...

Re: Atari re-entrant

Welcome to the forums! I am another new user. I also toyed around in GFA Basic(and a tiiiiny amount of assembler) on my ST, until I eventually realised I should stick to creating graphics and animation instead :). I have been transferring some old ST disks and came across my GFA Basic disks. Oh boy,...

Re: .ST browser - plugin for Total Commander

I have figured it out now! For some reason the ST files was opened by my TC ISO plug-in instead of the Juliet one. No idea why that happened, but once I changed it, its now working! Thanks for your help guys and thank you Cyprian for an awesome plug-in!

Re: .ST browser - plugin for Total Commander

Thanks for replying Cyprian! I have tried it a bit further in 32bit TC, but still the same. The file always opens, with no errors, and its always empty. I am currently recovering some of my old work disks and they work fine, well mostly :), in STEEM. They are as far as I understand it , properly GEM...

Re: .ST browser - plugin for Total Commander

Sorry for reviving a somewhat old thread, but I just installed this plug-in and I can't quite get it to work. It opens the .ST files, but they are always empty. Is it still working with newer versions of Total Commander? I am using TC V 8.52a, I have tried both the 32- and 64-bit versions.

Re: The Obligatory 'Introduce Yourself Thread'...

Hey Everyone! Quick and dirty introduction from a new member here! I am Swedish and got my first Atari ST 520 in 1987 or thereabouts, which I used for gaming, graphics and music. I also tried my hand at some coding, but finally realised that I utterly sucked at it and should stay far faaar away from...
