Re: Doom for TT030.

unlike Amiga, Falcon doesn't support chunky 8-bit format, only planar 8-bit mode. I guess you meant here like Amiga. :) Chunky mode is possible only with a gfx card, like on Falcon. Ha, I was going to say, a lot of Amiga developers were stumped why Commodore didn't add a Chunky mode, whereas Atari ...

I need to make one with everything running, and somehow I messed up my Ultra Satan. Last time I tried to boot from the SD Card, it would just ignore it was hooked up. Tried HD Driver as well, and it didn't see anything on the ACSI bus.

Re: Now on eBay (apologize) Re-listed Sale Atari TT030

I mean I think your TT could go for that, Falcons go for a lot more depending on how much has been done to them. I have a bare PAK30 board I bought but have not even tried sourcing parts for it yet, not too fond of soldering small parts but I do have a microscope for that. Curious. Whenever I solde...

I wasn't thinking anything much beyond some terminals, bash and maybe python. Though I should learn Go at somepoint. Let's port Cowsay! I pointed that out to a coworker during a video conference much to the detriment of his concentration toward what people were saying. Ha!

Re: Atari TT030 and system V

Yeah I think the most important driver would be a non-Riebl NIC driver, for instance RTL8019AS / EtherNEC. Regarding cool unix workstation I tried to use TT in this matter for a while but unfortunately it's just too damn slow. Yeah, that was kind of what I was thinking. Though one would think part ...

Re: Atari TT030 and system V

So it could be possible to implement some new drivers (if we could get coders to do so). Get VME and video support and we could have a cool Unix workstation going. Not sure how useful that would be, definitely would have the cool factor though!

Re: Atari TT030 and system V

How close is ASV to say a BSD? Well, for starters, it's SysV, not BSD. 8) Yeah, Unix systems are all similar.. but different enough to be annoying. Only thing out there that has so many different variants. One can somewhat jump from one to the other, but there are always weird little things. And th...

Re: Atari TT030 and system V

I need to give this a play. Wonder how hard it would be to add Lightning (hence a USB stack) to it. Easy! You just need to know how write device drivers for ASV. And a USB stack for ASV. Talking to the Lightning itself is easy , as there’s free code to do so. Haha, anyone around here write a USB st...

GEM > Motif? That would have been awesome to see some old GEM programs ported to X11/Motif. Of course these days it would be cooler to do Qt/GTK > GEM.

Re: Never Ported respectively released for ST

Remember seeing a claim that suggested Interceptor (E.A) never made it to ST as coder found it rather ironic that the very people who'd bought the ST as it was cheaper than the Amiga, had killed it by pirating it's software... There was just as much, if not more piracy for the Amiga and PC though. ...

So.. you could use the floppy drive and cassette or whatever peripherals, but wouldn't be able to use any of the A8 software. Would be cool for some homebrew stuff. I haven't ever used a 7800 wasn't it (hardware wise) somewhere between the Sega Master System and NES (better than the NES, but maybe n...

One thing that would be nice is a patch somewhere (not sure where it needs to be) so that icons aren't white blocks in 32bit color at 1920x1080. I leave it at 16bit color due to this. I think this might need a patch in TOS or probably a newer desktop.rsc that I haven't seen (or is it deskicon.rsc, ...

Well, with selling the Falcon you could add all the accessories that are required for sure, but going prices for Falcons are nuts! Last one I saw went for 1500-1700.

First, you'll note that it's announced as a TOS-only FTP client :) Yes, but since i don't have any ethernet related hardware with TOS, the only way for me to test it was using this combo ;) I think it might be that pftp sets the packet buffer to a larger value than GlueSTiK can handle. I don't thin...
