Re: Pacmania

Levels? in drawing phase? Grobda HELP! been a bit busy @ work and also got distracted with some new hardware. I tweaked blockland and palettes as a bit of fun, i've had no direct communication with any coders, its all on this thread. I'm not that motivated to spend more time on it just now, though ...

Re: Amiga 1200.....why did I bother?!

just got an A1200 and its great, the addition of IDE and PCMCIA sure let a 68k machine communicate with the modern world. wish an equivalently cheap ST setup could do the same.

Re: Pacmania

weeell this is the stinker isnt it? i tried hard to get a nice palette that works for block town. to have nice background it needs more colours than those assigned originally. to do that with 16 total it needs to share with the sprites. here are the blocks i did; http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/6...

Re: raspberry pi as internal file server?

well... as i saw it the interface would be mostly software, with the Pi running at up to 800mhz (i think its 650 stock with up to 800 stable soft overclock in config) I would have thought it would have enough cycles to arrange the timing for ACSI running at 8mhz. the atari side could be an acsi driv...

raspberry pi as internal file server?

anyone considered using a raspberry pi as a file server for an st? im looking to add storage but dont just want a floppy emulator and seems ultrasatan is dead. my handicap is lack of coding, but it strikes me that the raspberry pi has enough GPIO pins to interface with the acsi port on a st. its als...

Re: Pacmania

It looks good, but the ghosts shouldn't be fatter than 16 pixels. I saw that they are 18 in this version, 18 is the same (when it comes to draw them) as 32 pixels and that makes things slower. Maximum 16 pixels and the speed will be high. I don't know if it's a good idea to remake the ghosts since ...

Good.

bad, i thing the amiga mod music is inferior to the ST chip music, so would be a downgrade.

without it i'm not interested, i'll just play the amiga version.

The images looks good, but I'm not sure it's the same scale as the ST one? Also I can see that the yellow dots are not laying over the same bricks everythere. scale is same as the 1st shot that Hans did (i copied it and used it as template). its a ST 320x200 screen double to make it more visible. d...

ive got one of these upscalers too, designed for arcade game industry for replacing old 15khz crt with 31khz lcd. works fine they get warm but are stable when warm, they wont melt anything. cope with a wide range of sync as arcade boards vary a lot. im surprised the signal would need 'toning down' t...

This is a nice pic from the Amiga version. http://eager.back2roots.org/SSHOT/P/pacmania.png I copied it into a drawing program and could see that it has 25 colors on screen, but many are for pacman. mouse/joystick problem is probably bad contacts where the connector is soldered to the keyboard. common problems especially when a 'port saver' is not used. is repairable but you'll need to take your keyboard to bits to have a look and if it is a problem then either resolder the joints or if the pin...

tbh id get a STE and plonk 4mb in it (4x 1mb SIMM), cheaper and easier than modding a stfm imo. /waits to be corrected :P

id forget ideas on surfing the net on a 8mhz computer too. maybe slave a raspberry pi to it via a terminal?

Hi from Glasgow! hi all Im a retrogamer, it started with emulation, and then getting a jamma setup to play the games i loved 'arcade perfect' as a kid. As some boards arrived or became faulty, and the prices started going up, I branched out from collecting into repairing too. I've pretty much reache...
