Re: Question about using File Selector

Went with jfl's code so I could check the return value of strrchar in case the directory path has no '\' in it and avoid a bus error. s = strrchr( path, '\\' ); if( s != NULL ) { *s = '\0'; if( strchr(path, '\\') == NULL ) { path[2] = '\\'; path[3] = '\0'; Dsetpath( &path[2] ); strcat( path, nam...

Re: Question about using File Selector

It's inefficient to use strcpy here, since all that you want to do is... *(strrchr(path,'\\')) = 0; Yes, thank you that works well. But not for the case of root drive, since Dsetpath won't work then. So I had to add a check with strchr in to the code: *(strrchr(path,'\\')) = 0; if( strchr(path, '\\...

Re: Question about using File Selector

Think I got it...this seems to work:

Code: Select all

                              s = strrchr( path, '\\' );
                              strcpy( s, "\0");

where s is a char *

Question about using File Selector

I'm trying to get the return path from the file selector and add the filename to it so I can open the file. I set up the path before calling the file selector, but when I return the path still has the wilcards at the end which I need to strip to replace with the filename. Can someone give me an exam...

Yes, that is confusing. The binaries are in the Iconnect and Draconis folders. I changed to one link only with description. Thanks! :cheers:

Peter West

I have received bad news about Peter West from my UK friend. Sadly he is facing very serious health issues. :( Peter West has done many English translations of our Atari software with his work at DDP. Please keep Peter in your prayers and good thoughts. We will always be appreciative for his work fo...

Re: A couple abandonware apps

And I found a real gem - from french author Guillaume Tello a wonderful piece of software named ProgDesk. it's actually a very elegant way to make your own desktop via text file. Example DSK file and very good manual is inside archive. Status was shareware, but, if i understand well this version is...

Re: Help opening a window in Pure C

After a couple days getting back into GEM, I have a functional window which can be moved around, resized, use the sliders, etc. I was working with Peter Lane's AHCC guide, but I am using PureC so it required some changes. Also I made it simpler than Peter's. All the code is in one file. I attached t...

I did but it doesn't trigger a redraw like some of the other events. I think because depending on where the slider is it may not need a redraw so it is left to the program to decide. At least that's what I'm thinking.

Re: Help wth APPL_WRITE to send WM_REDRAW message

One other thing. I put a printf in the case statement and it prints twice for every down arrow press and I'm not sure why. Is there something that should be done to prevent this double click issue? Which TOS re you using ? You may have found the WM_ARROWED bug, where 2 such message are sent. Read i...

Re: Help wth APPL_WRITE to send WM_REDRAW message

Ok, I implemented it in the WM_DNLINE case of WM_ARROWED message. But I get a bus error when I run the program and press the down arrow box. Should I not send a WM_REDRAW message for the down arrow and just jump to the redraw code instead? It doesn't appear like the WM_ARROWED message causes a redra...
