Re: MyAES 0.96 available

Thank you Olivier. You was right, it was the lack of RAM issue. This version works, but I still had to disable everything other than mint, nvdi, myeas and desktop to have windframes, realtime and osd working. Anyway I have to fix the my other Frak2, that is capable of 64MB of FastRAM. The 16MB way t...

Re: Falcon Mod Resurrection.

It is the Phantom SE accelerator. An early version. I'm the author, BTW. The installation need some cleanup, anyway. I only don't get why you want to remove it. You will barely find anything better. It is perfectly compatible with the CT6x, the clock-patch is one of the rare ones that actually works...

Re: Archimedes and its highly programmable video chip VIDC

It would be interesting to see how much Falcon can be pushed on LCD in mono resolution with Videlity or similar utility... Quite high. The falcon is limited only by given pixel clock and BUS bandwidth. The basic umodded F030 have two oscillators built-in, 25MHz and 32MHz while the later one is actu...

Re: MyAES 0.96 available

If you have no external windframe (only very basic inside) and no real time, the main reason is probably MyAES decide to not use it if think it is better for your configuration to not use it because there is not a lot of memory (I think I could check the choice is around at 14Mo of ram). I have 4MB...

Re: MyAES 0.96 available

Hi Olivier, I'm testing MyAES on my PAK/3 + ET4000 (NVDI) board, but I have either no windframes nor realtime_winframe working. I have the only the background picture, menu and windows textures, but that is all. I'm using mint 1-19-cur, NVDI 5.3 with ET4000 enabled, MyEAS and Thing 1.29. Also it see...

Re: Panther/2 drivers and torubleshooting

Thanks. In meantime I figured it out. I had multiple problems on my installation: The biggest problem was that each of nvdivga.inf files I tested was configured to some insanely hight frequency modes that my LCD monitor was not able to detect even as "out of range" mode. It just switched o...

Panther/2 drivers and torubleshooting

Hi, I noticed a couple of Panther/2 users here thus I have some questions. I've got a MegaST4 machine with a Pak68/3/Frak/Pupla/2/Panther/2+ISA ET4000+NE2000 combo that I'd like to fix. I know this particular machine was fully functional some years ago, so let's expect all the HW is correctly fitted...

Re: Eagle Sonic 32 drivers needed

The DSP should be clocked higher than the 030 in order to work. Try to overclock the DSP to 40MHz at least and you will see. It is common problem of old accelerators that speed up the CPU but not the DSP.

Where? The Amiga hardware is extremely expensive and hard to get nowdays, especially the higher end one.

Hello all, I purchased an UltraSatan sometime ago and I guess since I never attempted to work with big files I never encountered this error but it is unreliable. What I am currently trying to do is transfer easymint to my TT. Easymint is a 190MB zip file. First of all make sure you have the last fi...

Re: Please help identify this Falcon mod

There was usually a mechanical switch on similar devices. I suspect the grey wire on the right is the one used for switching it on/off. But from the photo I can't seen where it is connected.

Re: Please help identify this Falcon mod

While the L102 is still in place and there are not dedicated 500kHz feeds for ACIAs, it clearly isn't an BUS speeder. It's only 32MHz mod for the CPU.

Re: [SOLVED] Calling for help all CT2 owners!

What did surprise me however is ST RAM access time. My setup is a CT2B Falcon with everything clocked at 50/25 MHz and a CT60 Falcon with everything clocked at 66/50/25 MHz (CT60 + Phantom). Strangely, the CT60 Falcon is still about 30% slower in ST RAM access! I'm not that surpriesed. The CT2 repl...

Re: Calling for help all CT2 owners!

Yeah, I think Ctirad has gotten way too excited ;-) The Dolmen OS option was there for all CT2 cards, as a future replacement of the 'obsolete' TOS. Also, I'm not a newbie, so be sure I tried every possible combination, my French has improved dramatically during that evening :D Well, you're probabl...

OMG! This is definitely not just an plain CT2 machine, this is one of the machines used for Phenix 060 drivers and OS (Dolmen) development!! First of all, backup everything including ROM if possible. Has the CT2 any doughtercard fitted?

For a serious work in GEM the Aranym + fVDI driver is much better combination. You can have virtually any resolution and color depth and it's hardware accelerated.

Re: Atari Falcon - how many sound channels? 8 or 16?

The Falcon has not any fixed number of channels. From the pure hardware point of view there are single stereo DAC and single stereo ADC. If you want more output channels, you have to mix it by DSP (or CPU) to its single stereo ouput. The TOS Xbios offer 8 16it channels via DMA, so it is taken as a s...

Next step will be to make sure /UDS and /LDS are asserted as they should... may be there is a bad bus access and the CPU loops trying to get data from one of the component. According to author of the FURIA card, the data strobe signals have to be dealyed at least 20ns after /AS otherwise the comput...

Re: End of EasyMINT?

Portage/emerge is a rather extreme example though, doesn't it actually compile the packages from source when installing? That is the default behaviour, yes. But portage can create and install binary packages too. But, the problem is that portage is a python applicatioan a thus it is extremely slow ...
