Re: New Boot "Manager" insaneBOOT

@Eero: weird; i use dgetdrv to get the current drive. Works fine on my Mega STE and Falcon OTOH i only tested it with tos 2.06 and 4.04 Which TOS do you use? Latest EmuTOS, with Hatari GEMDOS HD emulation. I've modified insaneBOOT to not ask about the "current" drive but rather simply use...

Re: Hatari Alt+F4 not working

You didn't say which OS and desktop you're using. Hatari is developed on Linux (that's what Hatari developers have). If you have a desktop keyboard shortcut for Alt-F4, and it doesn't work, I don't think that's a Hatari problem, but likely a bug in your desktop. It might be a bug also in your libSDL...

Bug: it tries to read CFG file from A:AUTO instead of from boot drive (C: in my case).

Re: Midi & the Mac (not happening). Is it me?

My next question would be – is anyone here running Hatari on a Mac and successfully getting midi going to/from the Mac world? If so, I'd be interested in hearing the particulars (OSX version, which Atari midi program, what midi interface, etc.). Maybe we can narrow down the Mac issues a little. Che...

Re: maxYMiser High released

Well, that’s true - the normal font has just been increased 2x without adding extra detail :) But the ugly font is being generated directly ;) Ok, so there's actually a separate font, instead of the GUI being composed just from larger images. Could you attach the font file / image file in case some...

Re: maxYMiser High released

Have you tried the hi-res version? There is no rendering engine or something. The whole graphics engine and a lot of the GUI was recoded. Well, in normal monochrome programs text is normally easier to read than in color versions because of the higher resolution, but in MYM the text is actually hard...

Re: maxYMiser High released

Couple of issues:
* MYM freezes when starting song playback with EmuTOS (latest release and snapshot). Playing empty song works OK, so it's not screen update, maybe interrupt handling for the sounds?
* In mono, config -> Show CPU option cause nasty flicker, at least in Hatari

Re: Unable to select any MIDI ports and Midi output path - Mac

The Hatari 2.2.1 does include the libportmidi.dylib in the SharedSupport folder. However, since I do not have any MIDI devices and I did not use MIDI on the ST, I do not know how to go farther. At least on Linux, one doesn't need any MIDI HW, one can just use one of the free SW MIDI synthesizers fo...

MIDI support works fine on Linux, but other people seem to be having problems on Mac too: http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=35184 (Hatari developers have/use just Linux, so they can't test other platforms. Windows builds are cross-builds done on Linux. Mac & Windows support, an...

Re: Moving my BBS from Mega 4 to Raspberry Pi/Hatari

Hatari doesn't emulate any network adapters, so you would need to use Atari emulation serial or parallel port for networking (not sure whether parallel port emulation is bi-directional, at least serial port is). In MiNT there's support for this, but I think there are also solutions for doing TCP/IP ...

Re: 1.44 Floppy image

I don't agree here. Many MegaSTes have HD drives, and furthermore, I have discovered a software (see other thread) that doesn't work properly with HD disks without proper detection in the OS. Therefore, I definitely think there needs to be support for the MegaSTe HD drive DIP switch. HD floppy imag...

Re: [REQUEST] SD-Installer Option to Download Latest Cores

People DO want to remove the SD card and update it using their PC. This is the biggest request that I have had, and not just by a few people - like hundreds! If there are so many people wanting it, why they just don't do it? How they can expect people who don't e.g. have Windows and no interest on ...

Dumped the ROMs from my TT with TTOS BLUE. The post with the dump is linked below. The ROM dump works in Hatari. http://atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=35161#p366234 Which version of Hatari / which options? When I try it, its frozen at boot looping on testing some MFP register ($FFFFFA01).

Re: Game browser with GEM/SDL xbios targets using gcc

For off-screen bitmaps there's NVDI (commercial SW VDI accelerator and lots of other things), and a free program that does just off-screen bitmaps, and which is shipped with some of the Atari SW needing off-screen bitmap support. For more info on checking for support on this and NVDI, see: http://to...

Re: High density .STX / pastis support

Not all mega STe were produced with an HD drive, first ones were DD and Hatari emulates a DD drive (at least, I never looked into TOS code to see how it checks for DD drive or HD drive, could be an addition for next Hatari version, but I don't think it's related to your STX floppy image) HW differe...

I recently read that TOS 2.x supports HD drives, and that TT (later models of it) and Falcon came with such drives installed by default. However, I didn't find information about whether MegaSTE machines were ever shipped with HD drives, so info about the dip switch is interesting. My guess is that t...

Also let's not forget that the main interest in ijor's core seems to be on how it can be used to improve other cores. If the goal is to expose the ST to more people I think it failed I think the goal is more to provide 100% ST compatible HW for people interested in ST, which can optionally run also...

According to Wikipedia Atari Falcon & TT shipped with 1.44MB floppy drives, and TOS 2.x in Mega ST(e) devices also supported 1.44MB floppy drives. Wikipedia isn't clear on whether Mega ST(e) devices shipped with such drives though. On ST one needed to buy HD drive oneself, do some soldering (1 N...

Personally i'm really interested in the work Master of Gizmo and Ijor have done and I will continue to be so as long as old ST prices continue to ramp up on ebay :) Yep, Ijor's cycle-exact 68000 / ST core made MiSTer much more interesting.
