Re: Has BadMood gone stale?

I thought Douglas was eventually going to publish the modified sources, but he's apparently been busy with other things for quite a while. The sources were in his private Mercurial repository (I have an older checkout from time when I was profiling it with Hatari). At least his BadMood page is still...

I don't know about STEEM, but in Hatari at least the TOS language version and which keyboard emulation mode are used affects these.

4. build Hatari from sources (because latest Debian/Ubuntu Hatari is buggy 2.2 version instead of week newer v2.2.1) Sorry, can you just clarify: V2.2.0 is the version with bugs, so build from V2.2.1 source, correct? Yes, v2.2 is buggy (incorrect emulation for UNPK instruction). v2.2.1 with a fix w...

Re: Hatari loads slow and reports errors on RPi3B running Raspbian

Loaded up Cubase 2.0 and loaded a fairly 'busy' 8-track song and started it playing. While playing through the song the CPU usage indicator on the Pi was showing just 21% - however, maybe once or twice during the song replay there was a tiny bit of hesitation, while all the rest of the time replay ...

Re: Hatari loads slow and reports errors on RPi3B running Raspbian

MIDI emulation in Hatari isn't a performance problem, but if you would want to use use something like FluidSynth to emulate also a MIDI device, instead of connecting a real MIDI device to Rpi (don't know how), know that FluidSynth is also fairly CPU intensive.

Re: Scumvm

No what I mean is, the scummvm development has added additional engines to the project, so that also other game can be ran. For example Lands of Lore is now scummvm compatible but it requires a kyra.dat that is supplied in the original source and distribution of the binaries. I was wondering if you...

Re: Raspberry & Hatari

I would like to create a distro for raspberry as an amibian but with hatari. Is there a tutorial? Thank you. I haven't seen any tutorial. I assume it would go along the lines of: 1. install headless setup (no GUI) 2. purge all extra services that start at boot up (printer, bluetooth etc) 3. install...

Re: Backward III and NVDI

Eero: that would be an extremely inefficient setup. Backward disables the cache, sets the CPU frequency to 8 MHz etc. Slow VDI is then the least of your troubles. :) OK. Maybe it's then just to have NVDI speeding the Backward slowness up, so that Falcon desktop is a bit nicer/faster to use (for sta...

Re: Backward III and NVDI

I assume these are intended for different programs, NVDI for GEM programs, and Backward for older games. If they don't interfere with each other, one can have both NVDI & Backward enabled in AUTO folder and doesn't need to reboot to run another type of a program. This assumes that game exits cle...

I have no idea, but there's been a lot change between different NVDI version, so you'll probably need to state which NVDI version you're interested about.

Hmm, I thought I tried that, but I can try again. The thing is, that both games format their own savegame discs, but I don't remember feeding them an empty Pasti image, if there is such a thing. Will investigate, thanks for the lead. Did you get this working? STX file track writes have been support...

Works fine on Linux, and there hasn't been any changes in this part of code for many years. In which way it's broken on Windows? (None of the Hatari developers has Windows, so all testing & debugging for Windows specific issues needs to be done by users, sometimes fixes too. AFAIK even Hatari Wi...

I liked the screen with stars and white waves most.

Btw. Somehow the length of all screens was just right. Whenever I started thinking of potentially fast-forwarding things in Hatari, that screen bows out and next one comes in... Maybe the demo was powered by telepathy!

Re: Doom/Doom II (PrBoom-Plus) on Framebuffer/ARM

Wow, speed is impressive! I didn't expect so high performance. Doom worked fine on a mere Acorn Risc PC with 200 MHz StrongARM, so a fast Cortex-A9 should really have no problem at all. There's a Doom port / rendering engine rewrite that works pretty OK even on Atari Falcon i.e. 16Mhz 68030 (with m...

I haven't really tried much MiNT under Hatari, because GEMDOS HD emulation doesn't work with MiNT.
