Re: Just bought a replacement ST after over 14 years

Not to worry, I have ordered a replacement drive for a few pounds.

It seems Notator does work with 4GB and TOS 2.06, but I think I'd still like to make things switchable if it's not too difficult.

Re: Just bought a replacement ST after over 14 years

Good news! I have socketed 32-pin TOS. And 4x256kb 30-pin SIMMs making 1MB. So, exact same setup as you? TOS chips are Texas Instruments 27C010A-120JL with holographic stickers Disk drive (Epson brand) is very slow to access, boot to dekstop took about a minute without a disk in the drive. Can't rem...

Re: Just bought a replacement ST after over 14 years

Thanks again, that's all great. Going to open mine up tonight and check out the state of things. My only concern, and my reason for maybe wanting things to be switchable, is that I need Notator to remain functional. I need to find out if it works on a 4GB 2.06 STE. If not, I definitely need things t...

Re: Just bought a replacement ST after over 14 years

Actually, I followed your recent posts on here and they were instrumental in taking the plunge. So, thanks!

Would be interested to know your route to 4MB and TOS 2.06?

And also your experiences with UltraSatan and EtherNEC if you've got time on your hands.

Re: Just bought a replacement ST after over 14 years

Thanks! I think you're right.

Any advice on what's the easiest way to upgrade the memory and TOS would be appreciated. Even just links to specific threads or posts on this forum.

Cheers,

Just bought a replacement ST after over 14 years

My family got rid of our ST around 1995, it was a sad day as we'd had some great fun, but times changed and we were forced to upgrade to a PC. Ever since, I've often thought about how great that machine was and how much I learned from it and I've continued to dabble with ST via the wonders of emulat...

Re: Latest Mono Monitor : NEC LCD52VM

I went to buy one of these today but they have sold out.

However, I managed to find another (used) one for a similar price on eBay so bought that instead.

Well I'd like to see how it goes.

i have nothing against DBPro or any other tool for that matter, whatever gets the job done :) I'm just stoked at BlitzMax's cross platformness.

I'd have to use BlitzMax for that - and it isn't out on Windows yet is it? :) Although I do have it for my Mac it's more for curiosity than anything else. Searching for "bert / robert presley" or the fox variant come up with absolutely nothing. I even looked through the source with a hex editor to ...

It's also on PP#47, no credits given in the doc but they say the cheat is, in fact, "bert presley" http://www.gingerbeardman.com/archive/pp/pp47.gif The second high score by default is PBF which could also be P Fox? The game is credited to "Project X" I'd like to see a remake of ...
