Re: RPM over network?

I don't remember ever installing an RPM from the network on my Ataris, so I can't help you much with that. It's possible that the Sparemint version of RPM does not allow network installs, or that some other piece of software is missing. But if FTP works, just download them, and install them locally...

Re: RPM over network?

i would not try to install over the network. It works better if you just download them on to your hard disk and install from there. Well crap, that seemed like it would be very useful. Can I use an FTP client at this point to download the files as some will not fit on floppys! Good guide BTW, thank...

Re: RPM over network?

What is the problem exactly? Where are the RPMs you want to install on your Atari? On one of your machines in your home network? They are on spearmint.org where I've tried both http:// and ftp:// to download and install directly from the internet. I've been working my way through WongCK's guide to ...

RPM over network?

I've got my SvethLANa setup and I can ping my Atari from other computers in the house. I want to start load packages using URL with the RPM, but I can't seem to get it to work. Anyone have any pointers?

Working my way through the install of MiNT. Got root.tar installed as suggested here, but tcsh is lacking some.

Anyone have a good .cshrc file for tsch?

Keyboard Issue

Ok, today is the day for strange things. When I run in Mint, all is good. When I boot to TOS, any mode, my keyboard give garbage when I type. Any ideas?

Update: Fixed it by deleting everything from the auto folder and reinstalling SV drivers and nvdi.

Re: SuperVidel + XaAES (modecode config)

OK, I had something strange today. I installed a new monitor that allowed higher resolutions (1920x1080), but if I ran in this mode, the system went nuts. Programs couldn't run, memory violations. Took me a while to straighten it out, and get back to normal. Note, I'm setting my resolution using xaa...

Re: The LaST Upgrade - Part 9 - CT60 FIRMWARE UPDATE

Mine doesn't have the resister either. One of the reason I went with the USB programer is because I didn't want to modify the CT63. I'll likely never see one again if this one dies. I wonder of there wasn't solder bridge shorting out the pins?

Re: The LaST Upgrade - Part 9 - CT60 FIRMWARE UPDATE

When I first got stated with my CT63 I had a tons of problems with it. It turned out that the initial software download was corrupted for the xControl software. I can't remember who set me straight on this, but once this was fixed my CT63 has been very solid.

Re: The LaST Upgrade - Part 9 - CT60 FIRMWARE UPDATE

Another problem I just run into, is I updated the firmware to 201 (I think) and now it seems to have reprogrammed the CTCM module to 71mhz. My CPU will not run at 71mhz, so now the CT60 will not boot up  It will boot with a 64mhz osc in there, so nothing wrong, but how the heck are you suppos...

Re: The LaST Upgrade - Part 9 - CT60 FIRMWARE UPDATE

May be it was because you are using USB while I was using LPT. I don't think it has anything to do with the USB cable, I used it and it went smooth on my CT63 last weekend. I did install the software off the CD and I did purchase the xilint USB box. I elected to register the software, wonder if thi...

Re: ext2 won't mount?

So, no sign of xfs anywhere. I'm running mint 1.18.0 on the Falcon. Searched the C: drive, no sign of any xfs file. Found a copy of ext2.xfs on the VanillaMINT distribution and copied it to my 1-18-0 directory. Fixed the problem. Am I ok running the version of ext2.xfs from 1.17.0? Any idea what els...

Re: ext2 won't mount?

Just checking: you are running mint right? I guess the only way I can think that this might fail is if you don't have the xfs in the proper mint folder and/or have set mint not to load xfs'. MINT correct! Sorry about that. I'm running the standard .cfg files, with very little changes. Let me check...

ext2 won't mount?

Not even 100% sure of that, but I've followed WongCK's tutorial. mkfs.ext2 does what it should, and fsck.ext3 will check the disk, but I can't access it from the desktop. FSETTER also does not recognize it. I spent a lot of time reading the forums last night, but couldn't find an answer. Anyone seen...
