Yup that worked. Flashed US roms (both TOS and EmuTOS) and no more rolling picture. Works awesome! I've never actually used 2.06 before so this is great! :D

Re: New board: MonSTer

Got my Monster (STE w/ Socket), so far the IDE stuff seems to work, but I'm having an issue with the TOS versions on the board. When I take my TOS chips out of my system and use the flashed TOS (either one that comes with it) the composite video coming out of my Atari starts to vertically roll on th...

These are my old notes on this, might be helpful. In 525 and do the following: ⋅ Under Export options do the following: ⋅ File Type: AVR ⋅ Format: Mono Signed 8-bit ⋅ Check Maximize Volume ⋅ Convert Freq: Atari 12292 Hz (can also use 8195 Hz for long...

More STE ones coming in mid-August.

MegaSTE's also mid-August.

MegaST also mid-August, i.e. just the MegaST adapter here.

Still have ST ones available.

It's mid-August. When can we expect more in?

Re: NEW IDE Controller & TOS 2.06 board (with extras)

What IDE device are you using ? It's an SD Card reader, if that's what you mean. Same as one of the ones several pages back. That said, I may have fixed it. I took apart my atari (again) and let things boot up, after a while it found no IDE drives, and I noticed even the loading screen that usually...

Re: NEW IDE Controller & TOS 2.06 board (with extras)

Hi vitaflo, Presumably the card is auto-booting o.k. ? If so, then it's loading HDDRIVER.SYS fine. Maybe try re-partitioning and re-installing ? Not using hddriver.sys cuz i'm booting off floppy (tos 1.06). But i am able to see the drives fine. I tried repartitioning with hddriver and ppera's drive...

Re: NEW IDE Controller & TOS 2.06 board (with extras)

So after finally putting my Atari back together, now any apps I put on my flash drive, when launched will give 3 bombs. I looked this up and it says it's an address error. Any idea what would cause this? I can seem to read and write to the drive, but launching programs poops out on me.

Re: NEW IDE Controller & TOS 2.06 board (with extras)

I used ppera's drivers on this and they work well for TOS/DOS formatting. I found the interface more intuitive than hddriver anyway (it's only one screen). I just need to remember to not transfer files with long names to the card from Windows/Mac and to get rid of all the hidden cruft these new OS's...

Re: NEW IDE Controller & TOS 2.06 board (with extras)

I can't understand that from all of my DD floppies only one is readable. All others format ok in either ST or PC but the ST just won't be able to read the stuff written on it on the PC. For what it's worth, I've had great success formatting floppies in Windows with the following command: format a: ...

Re: NEW IDE Controller & TOS 2.06 board (with extras)

It depends on the eproms you are using. If you use 27C000 instead of 27C010, I think it is not necessary to change the jumpers settings. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ATARI-ST-STE-STFM-STF-MEGA-TOS-ROMS-1-02-1-04-1-60-1-62-2-06-COMPUTER-UPGRADE-/141011596512?pt=UK_VintageComputing_RL&hash=item20d4f23...

They're socketed, the problem is changing the jumper. Need to desolder and resolder the right jumpers, thus my inexperience.

Re: NEW IDE Controller & TOS 2.06 board (with extras)

There are many people on here who can provide you with updated TOS EPROM chips, but you will need to do some quick soldering to three zero ohm resistors which act as jumper selectors. See the Atari Forum Wiki section on upgrading STE TOS here http://www.atari-forum.com/wiki/index.php?title=STE_TOS_...

Re: NEW IDE Controller & TOS 2.06 board (with extras)

I have TOS 1.06 on my STE. It seems I need HDDriver.PRG in my AUTO folder of my Floppy in order to see my flash card when I boot the machine. Nothing I'm doing seems to let me see my flash drive *without* the floppy in. Is there no way to do this? I was hoping to ditch floppies altogether. I just wa...

Re: NEW IDE Controller & TOS 2.06 board (with extras)

Another noob question, should my STE "see" the SD card after I have this installed? I figured it would notice it in the slot and let me format it from the OS, but no go. The Demo of HDDriver does see an IDE device but the demo doesn't let me format it, thus it doesn't show up on my desktop...

Re: NEW IDE Controller & TOS 2.06 board (with extras)

Yes, the IDE ports face the back. But there are some pictures earlier in this thread that show the orientation. Also, Pin 10 is on the far right side and if you angle the clip horizontal with pin 10 at a fairly low point on the pin, you'll notice that there's a gap in the plastic shield that snugly...

Re: NEW IDE Controller & TOS 2.06 board (with extras)

Silly question, but what is the orientation of this thing in an STE when installed? I'm guessing it's IDE pins facing the back of the unit but I want to make sure. Also, is the ASCI DMA port the HD port? Pin 10 on mine is rather wide and the clip doesn't "hug" around it. Is there a possibi...

Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical w/ a PS2/USB adapter works great. The WMO is probably the most common USB mouse there is. Stores by me h...

Re: YM modification? (The distortion)

I believe the distortion comes from the LMC 1992 audio controller in the STe's. It's volume output is set pretty high and causes distortion. You can reduce this in software via Microwire. Note this shouldn't affect regular ST's or the Falcon as they don't have microwire.
