Re: Demons Winter

If you think I've missed out on any extra stats or stuff, then my plan is to rewrite all of my cheats using the latest GFA (patched by Lonny) and switch all the music across to SNDH format.

Re: Moving MIST (etc) sub-forum into it's own main forum area

I've had to create a clone of the inital forum, but this time set it as a 'category', then move the sub-forums into here from the old FPGA area. The trouble is with a 'category' type area, you don't seem to be able to have a 'wild west, post anything you like' area beneath the sub-forums. So I've ha...

Re: Moving MIST (etc) sub-forum into it's own main forum area

On your screen shot there a part with Forum as title and FPGA as entry. The title should be FPGA based clones and it should contains the 4 subforums. Ah yes, didn't spot that before. I will have to ask some advice on this, because if I change the format from 'forum' to 'category', things happen wit...

It would be useful for people to know where in the world you are before they register an interest. There's a few people on this forum, myself included, who are into the preservation of original disks.

Re: Moving MIST (etc) sub-forum into it's own main forum area

From the main forum, you can now see that there are four sub-forums. That's the same for any of the other main forums. True. But I'm wondering why it doesn't look like this: Screenshot_20170829_211502.png I.e. from the main page I would be able to tell whether there's a new post for MiST or Suska. ...

Re: Moving MIST (etc) sub-forum into it's own main forum area

Why the subforums (MiST, Suska, ...) aren't visible from outside? Clipboard02.png Ah ..oops! Fixed now  I meant why one can't see each subforum as a separate entry with its own last post and date. :) Just curious, I'm not target audience anyway. From the main forum, you can now see that there...

Re: Moving MIST (etc) sub-forum into it's own main forum area

thanks for that! It's better now. I think it's better not to make too many sub-forums: it tends to confuse people to find the right section. Just a single one for MiST (and MiSTer), newbie questions and all the core into the same part is fine for me. MiST and MiSTer are not really binary compatible...

Re: Moving MIST (etc) sub-forum into it's own main forum area

Suska seems to be strictly Atari like hardware and Wolfgang has more fpga Atari's in the works, can you leave Suska as its own sub forum even though its low trafic? Actually its Wolfgang's Falcon clone I'm waiting on. ;) No problem. I was going to create a Raspberry Pi sub-forum, only because I fin...

Re: Moving MIST (etc) sub-forum into it's own main forum area

I've now moved (in my eyes) all of the MiST related posts into the new MiST sub-forum. The few posts for Suska have their own sub-forum, but did this not take off as much as MiST? If not, should I just merge it into the "everything else that's not MiST" sub-forum? Do the MiST users want se...

Re: Moving MIST (etc) sub-forum into it's own main forum area

The first stage has been done and there is now a new main forum purely for FPGA-based clones.

Some more work will be required though to sort it out into a better arrangement via sub-forums. This will follow in due course, but with your input.

Re: Moving MIST (etc) sub-forum into it's own main forum area

My idea would simply be: FGPA based clones MiST MiSTer If a particular device supports multiple cores spanning several platforms and/or game consoles, one should expect such chat in there, else don't go there. ;) Technically the FireBee can be anything, it's an open spec board, but alternate uses o...

Moving MIST (etc) sub-forum into it's own main forum area

As the MiST (and associated) sub-forums are generating a lot of traffic for AF, a suggestion that I've made to the other moderators is that it is promoted to a main forum, i.e. outside of Atari ST Professionals forum. This will be happening on Monday 28th August. No threads/posts will be lost as the...

Re: Do I need to learn assembly to make a music disk?

Yep. There's a filesize limit to GFA's Include command, so you can't go above 65535 bytes. So use a MALLOC to create the full size memory buffer for the unpacked tune and then store the ICE (or whatever packer you use) within the Include area. Depack from the Include into the MALLOC area and then po...
