Yes, just looking another way would be easy, wouldn't it?

Exactly, just like I'm looking the other way when I read your nonsense from now on.
Have a nice day.

Re: Advertising Atari with sexy girls.

I find this entire thread sinister. I see no problem in posting vintage ads where hot girls are used to sell products. They did that 30 years ago. What I *do* have problems with is people idolizing this TODAY. It has nothing to do with "political correctness" or "being offended"...

Re: Advertising Atari with sexy girls.

Not really an ad, but a sexy girl in an Atari Falcon swimsuit.
Is she underage? Probably not.
Did she give consent? We will never know.
Do we care? Pfffffffft!

Re: Atari 520/1040 ST F/FM/E repro boxes - In the making

I bought a few NEW ST's back in the 80's and 90's, and none of them came with a boxed mouse.
IIRC, the mouse was in a plastic bag inside a larger undecorated box that also contained the
manuals, floppy disks and cables.

Re: TT and monitor stand

I had a quite heavy (certainly more than 8kg iirc) EIZO F57 17" CRT standing on top of my TT for 5 years or longer.
There were no problems or defects at all. The case was more or less designed to have a monitor standing on it.
Plus it also looks pretty good this way. But that is just my opinion.

I have an original french 1040 STF box - just the empty box, no insides.
Shipping will likely be a pain, depending on your location.

Re: Easiest way to get high speed serial on Mega STe?

It has been a very long time for me, but I used a terminal software called "Rufus" on my MegaSTE, together with HSModem package, and I was using my U.S. Robotics modem @ speeds of either 38400bps or 57600bps. Might have even worked at higher settings. I was using the serial port on the slo...

Gauntlet II for me, especially in multi-player mode.

Re: The Atari ST (and others) and the Creative People

I guess we can finally say, that the Kickstarter campaign which was supposed to start for Volume 2 today will fail. Because nobody out there seemed to liked the book. That saves me $60 I guess... OK, now to be serious: You can never satisfy everyone. No matter if its a book, a new CPU, a new dildo o...

Was it not someone else (as in not Marco) who was responsible for translation to english? I too, was surprised that some of the captions were not translated from german, but then as I am german myself it was no problem to me :P I do not mind the storytelling or writing style, it might be hard to fol...

I remember Son Shu Shi from back in the day.
I liked the game, and wanted to complete it, but it was impossible because the crack is bad.
So was this ever fixed?!

I originally owned the versatile Philips CM8833 - but when I saw the new SC1435 at my friends place, I was interested to buy it immediately. And I never regret it til this day, it's still happily working. The 8833 got into some problems years ago, and I had to recycle it at some point.

The ST mouse is horrible imho. Back when I was a youngster I had no problem with it, but once I got to know other mice I started disliking it. Nowadays when I spent time with the ST mouse, my hand falls asleep pretty quickly while I can spend hours with my "ergonomic" optical PC mouse (cur...

I might still have the cast photo of the Platoon movie that was included with the Platoon game. Afaik, this was a long time ago though, the first edition of Chaos Strikes Back included a coin. Could probably think of some more, but I don't really have any goodies left.

Re: My new TT030 - Photos - Info on mobo appreciated

Back in the day I had the aixTT-ram card. It could hold up to 64 MB TT-ram in 2 slots (so 2*32mb maximum). Probably not an easy find nowadays I assume. I was very satisfied with that card, although I "only" used it with 40 MB max (32+8). Plus I had 8 MB ST-ram, though not on some expansion...
