Gauntlet II for me, especially in multi-player mode.
And unplugging the printer was easily done :)

Re: The Atari ST (and others) and the Creative People

I guess we can finally say, that the Kickstarter campaign which was supposed to start for Volume 2 today will fail. Because nobody out there seemed to liked the book. That saves me $60 I guess... OK, now to be serious: You can never satisfy everyone. No matter if its a book, a new CPU, a new dildo o...

Re: The Atari ST (and others) and the Creative People

Was it not someone else (as in not Marco) who was responsible for translation to english? I too, was surprised that some of the captions were not translated from german, but then as I am german myself it was no problem to me :P I do not mind the storytelling or writing style, it might be hard to fol...

Re: There are tons of BEST of threads, how about the WORST ST games?

I remember Son Shu Shi from back in the day.
I liked the game, and wanted to complete it, but it was impossible because the crack is bad.
So was this ever fixed?!

"Battle Probe" for me, is the worst commercial game on ST.

It is not really unexpected, as the old Bladerunner movie included some Atari logos too.

Re: 1040STe and SC1435....

I originally owned the versatile Philips CM8833 - but when I saw the new SC1435 at my friends place, I was interested to buy it immediately. And I never regret it til this day, it's still happily working. The 8833 got into some problems years ago, and I had to recycle it at some point.

Re: Atari optical mouse

The ST mouse is horrible imho. Back when I was a youngster I had no problem with it, but once I got to know other mice I started disliking it. Nowadays when I spent time with the ST mouse, my hand falls asleep pretty quickly while I can spend hours with my "ergonomic" optical PC mouse (cur...

Re: Looking for games goodies

I might still have the cast photo of the Platoon movie that was included with the Platoon game. Afaik, this was a long time ago though, the first edition of Chaos Strikes Back included a coin. Could probably think of some more, but I don't really have any goodies left.

The thread says 10 boards have been made and shipped. Next batch will be 30 boards. So I assume you have to let them know you are interested.

Re: My new TT030 - Photos - Info on mobo appreciated

Back in the day I had the aixTT-ram card. It could hold up to 64 MB TT-ram in 2 slots (so 2*32mb maximum). Probably not an easy find nowadays I assume. I was very satisfied with that card, although I "only" used it with 40 MB max (32+8). Plus I had 8 MB ST-ram, though not on some expansion...

Re: B.A.T. MV16 cartridge dump

I used to have B.A.T original with MV16 cartridge. I thought the sound output was not bad. There was also a module player where you could select the audio to be output to MV16. This was not related to the game in any way. Of course if you have an STE with stereo this cartridge is just a bad joke :)

Re: Populous 2

There are two "original" versions of Populous 2: for 512k RAM and for 1 MB RAM and Harddisk install. I guess you were trying with the latter? Also, you may try a different crack, iirc there were plenty different cracked versions of this game. I never tried to link P2, or if I did I do not ...

Re: 7800 power supply plug - where to find?

I only know the european 7800 unit, and that does not have a unique power plug.
I have a "professional" pocket calculator that uses the same power plug (from Sanyo iirc).
I have no clue however what this plug is called, but I would advise you to search for a 7800 psu on ebay.

Re: How many with an Atari 1435?

CM8833 Mk II is the one that is identical with the 1435, NOT the Mk I which has scart.
But then I don't know how big the differences are between the Mk I and Mk II.

Re: How many with an Atari 1435?

I use the 1435 as main monitor for my ST. Always been very satisfied with it. Used to have a Philips 8833 (Mk I) as well, but preferred the 1435. The 8833 started beeping really loud when it got older, and blacks became rather brownish, so it went to recycling at some point. 1435 is still in tip top...

Re: "Thayer's Quest" laserdisc control disk

"Little" better access time, lol. Have you ever seen a LD in action? Probably not. It has the same access time as "track/chapter/time" jumping on a audio cd. But besides that, if all you need is the video part for playing, I would assume someone on some emulator site somewhere al...
