Re: Dust cover for Atari.

Here are some of my dust covers, protecting my SF314s, my SC1435 and my 520 ST. The floppy drive ones were hard to find. That is nice! Are those of the external floppy drives also original from that time or is it some home made? The floppy dust covers are from back in the day, they are both from di...

Re: wanted: Mega STE / TT serial port plate 2 x metal fixing blocks

Looking at the auction, those are the two metallic blocks I have lying around here.
I am not even sure anymore why I removed them, this was approx 1997 so my memory is clouded :)

Send me a private message if you want them.

Re: wanted: Mega STE / TT serial port plate 2 x metal fixing blocks

I'm quite sure I still have those.
I had a NOVA VME gfx card in my TT back in the day, and thus the serial port plate was hanging down somewhere behind the machine and was not mounted. Where are you located, in terms of shipping fees and things?

Heard about it before, the fees especially for large amounts are much lower than PayPal.
Several "internet friends" have used it before to send and receive money.

Re: connecting atari falcon to portfolio

This was a very long time ago (15+ years) but on my TT I used a software to make backups using the interface.
The files in the folder are FOLITRAN.PRG and FOLITRAN.RSC, so you can maybe guess a name from there.

Re: Discovery Cartridge mystery addon device

I had an external drive with track display from "Golden Image", which was distributed by DATEL so it might be the exact same drive.
It stopped working some 10 years ago or so and thus is no longer with me. Was a nice toy and worked fine for 15+ years.

Re: Advertising Atari with sexy girls.

I find this entire thread sinister. I see no problem in posting vintage ads where hot girls are used to sell products. They did that 30 years ago. What I *do* have problems with is people idolizing this TODAY. It has nothing to do with "political correctness" or "being offended"...

Not really an ad, but a sexy girl in an Atari Falcon swimsuit.
Is she underage? Probably not.
Did she give consent? We will never know.

Re: Atari 520/1040 ST F/FM/E repro boxes - In the making

I bought a few NEW ST's back in the 80's and 90's, and none of them came with a boxed mouse.
IIRC, the mouse was in a plastic bag inside a larger undecorated box that also contained the
manuals, floppy disks and cables.

Re: TT and monitor stand

I had a quite heavy (certainly more than 8kg iirc) EIZO F57 17" CRT standing on top of my TT for 5 years or longer.
There were no problems or defects at all. The case was more or less designed to have a monitor standing on it.
Plus it also looks pretty good this way. But that is just my opinion.

Re: Easiest way to get high speed serial on Mega STe?

It has been a very long time for me, but I used a terminal software called "Rufus" on my MegaSTE, together with HSModem package, and I was using my U.S. Robotics modem @ speeds of either 38400bps or 57600bps. Might have even worked at higher settings. I was using the serial port on the slo...
