You can also set a timeout so that you get a chance to interrupt this. It's all documented within mister.ini itself.

Great, thank you.

Re: Arcade cores

I put the osd dip support in most of the cores. Let me know if it is broken. Unfortunately we haven’t built new versions yet. I left out the coins and some other things that didn’t seem important. Sometimes the dips don’t work if you load a different rom. Most original vertical arcades had FLIP dip...

Re: Reverse engineering arcade PCBs for MISTer

Thank you for your suggestion and help. This will only work for 2 layer PCBs right. (...) Yes, this is limit for physical board. For reverse engineering from Gerbers, the layer count is irrelevant. gorf docs are also in here https://www.mikesarcade.com/arcade/manuals.html Yes, indeed readable servi...

Reverse engineering arcade PCBs for MISTer

I design electronics controls around MCU/SoC for living for over two decades and PCB design comes with every project I was involved in so far. In the 90s I worked several years for nationwide game distributor mostly on casino style video slot machines and I remember seeing hundreds of arcade PCBs be...

Re: Commando Arcade in MiSTer

No plans for Terra Cresta so far. I am seriously considering work on this particular arcade as one of my top favs. I started from searchings pcb schematic and so far found none. There is a nice repair log here https://www.jammarcade.net/terra-cresta-repair-log/ and wiki type info here https://www.a...

Re: VGA out - Bad color & Banding in Vertical mode

Sure just ignore that the issue disappears when disabling the scaler. The last release is quite old and there were some big changes on 11 april including a new scaler so I compiled a new build and it is fixed already. It just needs a new release. Who could have guessed that the new scaler would fix...

Re: VGA out - Bad color & Banding in Vertical mode

You should read my post again because I say if you use the scaler then the scaler will output blanking and sync and not the core. If you were careful when reading my initial post you would notice, the other two dozens of arcade cores I brought up under *) with native portrait display do not show th...

Re: VGA out - Bad color & Banding in Vertical mode

If you are using standard 800x600 then the core's blanking time is irrelevant. The scaler will output its own blanking and sync. At least for Burningrubber the blanking seems to fine and is working fine on native VGA output without scaler on my CRT. Blanking time is always relevant because it tells...

Re: VGA out - Bad color & Banding in Vertical mode

Post your Mister.ini. You are using a custom video mode? No, it's standard 800x600@60. Banding has been root caused already. It is caused by incorrect blanking timing for the analog output. The blanking isn't wide enough when the screen is rotated. That confuses the AGC circuits in most monitors, a...

Hello, Just plugged in the IO board and bit surprised about these: * slowly rotating fan * slow blinking RED and GREEN Leds Is that normal, shouldn't fan spin full speed? Or is it PWM fan and will speed up when FPGA temp gets higher? Also, * what are those 3 buttons for? * I read about SOG switch - ...

No, Filezilla is a program you run on Windows. Startup folder is a setting that you add when setting up the server address under the Site Manager menu option. Edit: looking at docs, it's "startup remote location": https://wiki.filezilla-project.org/Site_Manager I downloaded and installed ...

Re: Arcade cores

Not sure if you are suggesting hardware GPIO dips as an additional feature, but such a thing is not necessary as the core menu for each arcade core supports setting dip options via software (many arcade core settings are already doing this). Either way would work. I understand using nano on your de...

Re: Arcade cores - Vertical mode

I think I added Scan Lines to most of the arcades, but we haven't rebuilt them yet. When Sorg finalizes the sys with the new HDMI - direct mode, we will probably be ready to build all the arcades again. It is a lot of work, there are a lot of them! Yes, it's tremendous work and I can only say, amaz...

Re: Arcade cores

Thanks Lightwave, good point. Obviously game roms are what they are and it is up to platform to rotate or flip the image. I wonder if supporting cores include gpio to connect dip switches as they used to be present in original cabinets on the original platforms. Ideally those gpio's should be carrie...
