Re: Porting SOTB to the Falcon

Also, there are so many sotb demo screens for the ST we have outgrown it as a community. It is a very badly designed game tha cant be fixed by altering a few things here and there.
Also zarchos you really need to stop taking every criticism as a personal attack. That's just silly.

Re: Firebee and old soft

Thank you very much! Now I all understanв! I decide buy falcon. Or is it possible to run vga falcon games on STE? I would suggest trying the Falcon games on Hatari first and see if you like any of them enough to buy a real machine. Most people (especially people who originate from the Amiga) think ...

Re: CPU/Processor Upgrade for the Atart ST

I really wish those accelerators would include a little bit of fast RAM too. 4. Overclocked 68000 without cache. Very limited use, speed increase almost not noticeable in real life. I removed mine, because it caused timing problems with other hardware expansions (MonSTer and Reflex graphics card) w...

Re: The last MIST

What I find really sad is that Atari ST users are left without a hardware replacement for their system. MiST is still available in the shop. Buy it then. Atari ST sources are available to port to other boards. FPGA core is not a food - it won't be rotten. You still can continue to use as long as yo...

Re: The last MIST

I didnt buy a MiST because I couldnt justify spending the money in this time and age.it was on my list of things I wanted though. What I find really sad is that Atari ST users are left without a hardware replacement for their system.

Anyway, thanks for all your work. It is appreciated.

Re: ST emulators on Milan

So presumably aranym will run clean (GEM) programs in much the same way that the Milan will only run clean (GEM) progs. Does Hatari run games well ? It might make a suitable way to run games that aren't so clean on the Milan and aranym. Hatari runs games very well but it needs a 2GHz cpu to emulate...

No they really wouldn't. It's not that hard to have the host system launch hatari from within Aranym and use that. Beekey and Beepi have this feature.

Re: Very first computer

Atari 130XE sometime in 1988-89 I think. I always liked computers, even though I didn't have one so I got my first magazine before I got any computer. It was actually the first issue of a local magazine called PC Master that had an article on how to build your own IBM XT clone. After that I used to ...

Re: Weird problem on my Falcon

You other partitions are at a format that is only recognized by mint. Maybe above tos limits ,1gb for tos 4.04, maybe vfat, f32, ext2. The drive error is because your system is trying to launch a program from a drive that is unavailable.

Re: SpeedoFont file viewer / simple GEM font editor

Good work on this. I just loaded it up, seems fairly straightforward. Any chance you can add a function to rearrange a font? I'd like to change the greek one to iso8859-7 and see what it does. Edit: Also, I had an idea, if I used the txt export and changed the hex codes for the glyphs, would it rear...

There used to be a Lame port for MiNT at some time. You probably used that. It would have been quite slow though. It would take quite a few hours to encode a file.

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.9

Neither is mine, i am just translating. In short Emutos is not TOS and TOS bugs should be included only if many people used them as features. If it is just one developer... you speak of one developer, but one developer can be better than a whole bunch.... because one developer may have created more...

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.9

Seriously though, the way I understand Emutos' scope is that it is not trying to recreate TOS but rather it tries to be a better TOS compatible OS for our Atari systems. With that in mind, the Emutos team needs to aim at better compatibility but at the same time, that should not include turning bug...

Re: NVDI & character mapping

From my user experience the mapping is 1-1. That means that NVDI will just map the first 255 characters in the font to the Atari character set so if you open the font in something like fontforge you will see it as what you display in your image. I don't think NVDI supports unicode at all.
