Nicely done! I too would like to know what the latest "best practices" way to do this is :D

Re: Converting a german mega keyboard to UK?

You can get a keycap puller on ebay that should make it easier to remove the keys without damaging them.

Re: Disk Repair Tools ST

I was under the impression that USB floppy drives on a PC are not great at reading disks, particularly if there is a weird format. Did you try with ST Recover? It seems to have some tricks for reading partially desynchronised or damaged disks.

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)

Just found Stonish today and was astonished by its usefulness... hope to see it evolve more, maybe we could have a comments/notes section for each disk image, or per program (since they're already stored in a table for easy cross-referencing). Great stuff!

Re: Disk Repair Tools ST

I don't think Knife ST works with a hard drive, at least not the "Copy & Repair" option in the Format/Copy menu. You can set the source and destination drives both to "A", and it'll read as much as possible (based on available RAM, presumably) into memory before asking you to...

Re: How much RAM in your Atari ST?

Yes, although the 68000 can address more -- it's limited by the MMU, but some expansion boards can work around it apparently as described here. But yeah that was a quality thread revival :D

Re: rsrc_saddr where are some examples

It's "in the same boat", and it doesn't matter which one either of us is in. Go check out Stack Overflow, if someone asks a coding question and doesn't share code that demonstrates where they got stuck, then the question is generally closed and deleted because helping them turns into a gue...

Haha, fair enough  I'm always willing to show my code because you learn a lot from people reviewing and criticising it, but if you're not comfortable with that, no worries.

Can you post the code you've written so far Charles? It might be easier to see how to help then.

Re: MINT: We don't make this easy do we?

IMO the NodeJS ecosystem and/or community has contributed a lot to this tendency to produce massive websites. I recently forked a stub project at work that includes a "simple" Node server with React/Redux/Webpack for the front end. When built, it had a "node_modules" folder conta...

Re: OIDS hard disk and floppy versions for test

Is it possible to program the IKBD to automatically translate input from the Jagpad into joystick/keyboard commands so you don't have to manually patch so many places? If so, that remapping code could be reused for other games.

Re: OIDS hard disk and floppy versions for test

Since the kids came into existence, there is no space in my small place to set up the Ataris, but I'll definitely give this a run in Hatari on the weekend. Still hoping you will do a livestream/Youtube recording of your workflow :D

Re: exxos's webshop forcefully shutdown :(

Within Europe SEPA (IBAN) is reasonably quick and fee-less. Outside of Europe I'd propose an idea I've been mulling over for quite some time. Use Bitcoin. The transfers will go through immediately, and while it's somewhat of a hassle for the buyer to first acquire the bitcoin, we in the retro movem...

It worked on my old STFM with 1.4 IIRC. I used to use this to extract an SFX archive from one disk to a ramdisk, without copying it across first. Hold right click while double clicking a program in a background window, and it executes with the working directory of the foreground window. At least I t...

Medusa T40 for sale on eBay

There's a fancy sounding Medusa T40 for sale on eBay which is probably worth buying if you happen to be Bill Gates.

At the knockdown price of some €6,200 (including shipping) you'd be mad not to buy it right now!

8O
