All of the demos were great. Demo five really points to stuff going out of the box and things made by pure witchcraft.

Hey, can I just say that if the ataribox.com tease ended up being a system like this, I'd be 100% IN!

Unfortunately, that's very unlikely. I think PC hardware and emulation was mentioned.

If someone ever does a decent (as in complete) Falcon 030 in an FPGA, I'd be so up for that.

I'm keeping excitement levels firmly in check until we know more. I'm guessing a retro-styled box powered by emulation and bundled with some classic games.

The interesting part is to find out if it is yet another VCS bundle, or will it be something more than that?

I was thinking little about improving scroll. Probably can do smooth scroll even without blitter. That may cost little + RAM, but we can remove editor from play version. So, I went into disassembling it. And lucky ! That was my way fastest Atari ST game disassembly so far. About 1.5 hours only. Of ...

Or do as dlfrsilver suggests, and split the graphics data into the individual levels to load in only what you need at that point.

Well there's the Outline party coming up at the end of May if anyone wants to thrash something together quickly.

Alternatively, for those people with a bit more time on hand, the prospect of a new Sillyventure party is being floated for December :-)

My curiosity was piqued.

The music in Silk Cut plays back through VLC, so the audio must have used a codec VLC can recognise, no visuals though.

Kioa has got multiple data files, some of the other demos data folders weren't link-filed either, so you can see what they were made of (not movies).

I listened to it. Nice introduction to the concept of chip music, but a bit too Gameboy-centric, especially the first half. We did get a bit more diverse later, but I didn't get any sense of the broadness of chip music overall, just a narrow look at certain parts of that scene.

Short(ish) opinion, The Falcon 030 can be considered as a colourful and fast STE with great sound, if that is what you were after. Certainly it would appeal to hardcore Atari fans like myself. I wish it had got a new case. The unreleased Microbox Falcon is what it should have been. Objectively speak...

The only 'full' Atari XL emulator for the ST family was Petr Stehliks one, which needs CT60 class hardware to run at or better than full speed. He stated it got to 40 percent with an Afterburner card.

This was portable code running on a number of platforms so assume not optimised.
