Here's the Cynix crack/trained version from the above menu fixed on it's own without the menu.

If you manage to reach the end without getting bored to death you might even find something interesting in the technical details. :)

Re: Editing a message

If posts can at least be edited for a few hours after posting I don't think it's so bad. In the few cases that I've edited old posts it wouldn't have been a big problem to flag them for a mod and I'm sure the edit would have been done as requested. For someone continually updating the first post of ...

Re: Editing a message

It often takes me 1 or 2 edits of a new post to sort out spelling/grammar mistakes. to add that extra thing I forgot to mention the first time or just to make the post more coherent after re-reading it. And it's the same on the other couple of forums I use regularly. I've also gone back to edit an o...

Re: Lookin for Single Disk Cracks of these

Update of the Missing titles! 2007 - 03 - 13!!!! War in the middle earth // Marcer Ancient thread bump! I found this War in Middle Earth single crack in an old disk box. The version on planetemu is missing disk 2 and seems to be uncracked, so thought it might be worth uploading it here. This was th...

Re: Dungeon Master Copy Protection

Quite a few mistakes there... 1. "Enter a word from the manual" type protection wasn't always easy to remove 2. ST/Amiga disks had 80 tracks per side, not 40 3. Rob Northen protection wasn't based on a protected "long track" with no sectors, it was a single protected sector with ...

Re: 'Clean-up' after a warm reset

One of the first thing TOS boot code does is to execute the RESET instruction. This instruction does assert the reset signal. At board level it is the same as pressing the hardware button. Yup, but I wasn't sure if the reset button would also reset other hardware chips in addition to the 68000, chi...

Re: 'Clean-up' after a warm reset

If you clear the 3 "memval" system variables (@ $420.w, $43a.w, $51a.w), or even just the first one at $420.w, then jump to the reset vector in $4.w it should do a BIOS cold boot rather than warm boot. From supervisor mode: clr.l $420.w move.l $4.w,a0 jmp (a0) but without the actual hardwa...

Re: Aura.PRG source code unprotected needs recompiling

That will definitely not work as whoever did the protection on this knew what they were doing. There's some bizarre stuff in this like creating the copyright message with a load of random byte moves. It has an encrypted disk protection check, self modifying code + it hides the reference to the prote...

Re: Any new 32" TV that works with an ST via RGB SCART?

Updating this in case anyone else is looking for a new TV to use with an ST. Turns out the Sony 32WD756BU does work OK with my Mega ST, if I use a SCART cable with the resistors. My old cable that I've had for years didn't have the resistors and worked OK with most other TV's over the years, but not...

Any new 32" TV that works with an ST via RGB SCART?

I'm currently using my ST with a Toshiba 24" LCD TV with built in DVD player, picture is OK but something isn't quite right with the frame rate as scrolling is a bit jerky. But it's fine for text stuff and the display is stable unlike most other TV's I tried around the time I got this one, with...

Re: Old ST scene letters scans

Strange, I created the archive with Winrar 5.50 (64 bit). Of course it is a dodgy pirate copy so maybe that's the problem. :)

They're using jpg format on the http://gotpapers.untergrund.net/ site so I think it's OK to use as the stuff will only be going on there.

What was wrong with Iron Lord? Is it just the various bugs that are in all originals?

Does anyone know how to make the protection check appear in Fate Gates of Dawn? Maybe someone has a saved game just before it appears or something?

Re: EIZO on eBay UK

I gave it a go and unfortunately it doesn't sync to ST low or medium res, only high res. So if anyone else is wondering the EIZO FlexScan L350 doesn't work with the ST. Thanks anyways, was cheap enough to be worth a try. :) I also got one of those little adapter boards that plugs into the ST monitor...
