Re: Atari PC1 for sale

I meant I don't have any EGA colour monitor myself or supplied with it and didn't get the amber screen one with it to try it out on, not sure if Atari did a color one themselves. CGA is not hard to get going so might see if I can get an adaptor or something for the EGA monitor port on the PC1, EGA m...

Re: The Atari IBM PC Owners Thread (PCx Series, ABC, Portfol

Launching of IBM PC compatibles was considered by most of ST and follower owners as not good move, almost as betrayal. And there were reasons for it - development of ST line was not really strong. We (and press) just thought that Atari wants to make money in easier way. Hmmm that's quite an interes...

Re: Atari PC1 for sale

I bought one of these today as an impulse purchase, missing the lovely angular mouse and colour monitor sadly, so when I get a chance I can take some pics of the board/insides if people really want.

Properly trained version of Commando (Elite) please.

I don't have boiler (which took long enough to find is what you would need to edit memory!) and there is no reliable way of knowing if the only code supplied is accurate for invincibility for this game. I was hoping to do an arcade SBS compare of this awesome game for youtube but would really like a...

I can't even get the cursor keys to work in STeem SSE 3.3.0 to select a song. Also return key doesn't work to go into the digital synthesizer menu (I think it's return key). What emulator are you guys using?

Re: Enhance ST games for the Falcon ?

An arcade perfect version of Gauntlet would be very easy to do, hell even a straight port over (with hardware sound sample playback routines replacing the ST original software method) would be nice and smooth and still only inferior to one other release of that game (Sega MD Gauntlet 4). Every compu...

Elite (Firebird)

Hi I used to have a cracked copy of Elite with all the files viewable but the one on Atarimania doesn't work with STeem for me (SSE 3.0 edition I think) and I don't have the manual to hand for the non-cracked disk I have. Anybody know of a specific release that works and is not compressed into one e...

Re: Official ST Production Figures?

Hmmm interesting, the Amiga figures are off by a massive 50% so I call in to question the figures for ST or Amiga. The Amiga is confirmed as over 11 million in sales 1985 to 1994.

If it comes and it's minging and has less stuff installed, just make one good one out of the two. Duh. Items listed with misleading pictures with mismatched parts not mentioned in the description going for full price <> parts machines sold for peanuts my friend. For a start it artificially inflates...

Re: Canadian Filmmaker granted access to excavate Atari land

I have seen video footage where Nolan Bushnell states they were crushed and then covered in tonnes of concrete before being covered in the landfill so I don't have much expectations. The interest level it raises of the original brand (ie the hardware making company not the rebadged French software h...

Re: What is a "riebl" card? Mega STE and TT?

I wish I had seen such comments before I bid now! My last MSTE was with that fault where it ONLY outputs a mono signal even if you plug in a SC1224 (which it almost killed) so I really don't want all that crap again because as perverse as it sounds I only intend to play games on it which means no is...

Hey

I was wondering if anyone still had the PDF 'every page scanned' versions of The ONE ST magazines? I'm pretty sure I downloaded them as PDFs together not from AMR (which has pages missing anyway)

Thanks

Re: shadow of the beast ST (Mark mc cubbin here)

Well personally I would say yes the ST version could be better even in 512k but it would never be the same as the Amiga version for obvious reasons. 32 colours per scanline 4096 colour palette 28khz 4 channel DACs for sound Copper (which can actually do more than just palette switches btw) Blitter (...

I couldn't find this anywhere here (did a search on Cinemaware as a single word) but I would like to bring it to your attention. Re: Street Fighter 2 - NonCommercial Version As Per Atari Le

Well if stupid assholes like US Gold had any kind of quality control they would have made sure the Amiga specific version was coded FIRST, that way the blitter and sample sound routines could easily be transferred to the Atari STE version and a cut down version made for the Atari STFM. Unfortunately...

Re: The Atari ST magazine preservation project

Thanks for the tips! Truly invaluable information. I still haven't decided whether I'm going to separate the pages of my magazines in order to scan them. It seems perverse to destroy the very thing I'm trying to preserve. But then again, am I preserving the physical magazines, or their content? I n...

Outside ebay max I will pay is £170 delivered (tracked & insured) for boxed/very little yellowing/all manuals/all polys with 4mb/100mb range/UK TOS and 1.44mb FDD really. Maybe £25 more on ebay given 10%+4% fees. The hard drive isn't important, probs have the simms too for 4mb, but internal HDD ...

Re: WANTED: Mega STE + Hard disk or PC1 or MEGA ST kbd

That item sold for $205 on 16/2/12 and relisted very quickly.

Postage from outside UK+new TOS Roms make that one a no no. It looks very yellow and no evidence of 1.44mb floppy.

It was all boxed though which is nice and there is also peroxide to remove yellowing :)

OK I know some of you hoard these things but anyone got a spare Mega STE with hdd for sale? Yellowing is OK but must be complete.

I always wanted a PC1 (yellowed OK but with keyboard)

Hell even just a working regular Mega ST keyboard would help me a lot.

Re: ATARI ST GEM Desktop looking GUI for Linux/Windows?

Interesting video thanks for the link. I don't know if it's just a Windows skin/theme patch though.

There was some sort of Atari GEM compatible OS from the 90s (forget the name) but trying to keep it as stock Windows as possible, and Linux as a last resort :)
