Re: ICD AdSCSI ST - what enclosure does it fit in?

ICD made the AdSCSI adapters to fit their own cases (FAST cases mentioned above) and regular PC clone cases. They used to sell a backplate that fit into a standard PC clone case expansion slot opening so you can use it in a standard PC clone case. People who didn't care about the ugly PC clone case ...

Re: Atari haul from university

What caught my eye was the fact that this was in the US...or at least all the machines have a US keyboard. The only big Atari ST hauls from university that I usually see are in Europe. I wonder what university this is?

Re: Atari Falcon IDE to CF

When dealing with old Ataris and other classic computers, I would usually stick with name-brand CF or SD cards such as Kingston, Sandisk, Lexar, Viking, etc. I have a Kingston 4GB CF card in each of my two Falcons and they worked perfectly on the first try.

Bank Transfer for latest CosmosEx batch

Hi, I am was wondering if anyone purchasing the latest batch of CosmosEx has trouble doing a bank transfer using the account info they were sent. I am having trouble with the account info sent to me by cosmosex @ atari.sk that stated the SWIFT ID as "FIOZSKBAXXX". This does not seem to be ...

Nice. :D Lots of memories in those pictures. I still have my original Carter Graphics "Compact" Syquest drive model that is shown above, but replaced the mechanism with the 200MB model after the original 44MB model went bad. It was really nice how small it was so I could bring it along to ...

Re: RC-44 Removable Media System (Hybrid Arts).

Nice find! Weird to see that it looks like the ACSI/DMA ports are missing from the back (covered with cardboard). I guess this was made for one of their hard disk recording systems that used SCSI only. Also surprised it's a 2U rack system, but only has room for one hard drive since it only has 1 SCS...

Re: ATX Power Supply use on a Falcon030

Same here. I bought one of these tiny power supplies about 10 years ago 8O at an electronics clearance sale, but never had to chance to try it out. I thought since it's only 60W, that the Falcon can't handle it since the stock power supply is 85W. (at least in the USA) So I was going to use it in my...

I still remember seeing Atari 1040STs for $10 on eBay around 2000-ish. 8O I bought a couple spares because I knew at that price, if they didn't sell, they would go into the landfill.

:megaphone: A word of caution. I remember my local Atari dealer telling me he stopped installing CaTTamarans because they damaged his customer's TTs. He installed a good number of them, but ended up taking them out because of this. I don't remember what the CaTTamarans did to the TT though.

Re: Seeking Advice Falcon Rack Workstation Setup

Scott, That looks like a 1U space to me. I remember looking into rack-mounting my ST/Falcon years ago and found several solutions like this. The only difference is that the keyboard and mouse were built in. I vaguely recall they were all 1U spaces. Maybe consider getting one of these with a built-in...

Re: 90 degree rotated screen acceptable for a conversion?

i would not mind at all. I really only play games on my Falcon, and I have a monitor stand that can be easily rotated, so it's not too much of a problem for me at least. If the game is 10x better in portrait vs landscape, I am sure others will say it's worth the extra step.

Gauntlet II - Don't teleport two players at the same time; otherwise, they will end up on top of each other and then they are stuck. I say forget all these silly adapter upon adapter. Just get a Suska Gigafile or two. :megaphone: Support the few Atari hardware manufacturers left! :D The Gigafile was designed for Atari ST/TT computers - not Mac, PCs, etc though I am sure they can be used with them too.
