Re: AMIGA: MIST vs Pi3 vs Vampire/real Amiga (4000?)

I see no problem whatsoever with the discussions here. MiST by nature is multi-platform so I expect to see all platforms discussed. The forum layout is a little odd: Board index -> Atari ST Professionals -> ST(E) Clones (Suska / MiST) These multi-platform devices could or should be put in the root o...

Re: Aranym Network under OSX 10.12

It's working for me, but I'm running v0.9.16 which is a somewhat old. The mouse grab feature, where the mouse is confined to the window is horribly broken in subsequent versions. A feature I happen to really like. That's why I stopped updating the binary. The latest version gets stuck in an endless ...

Re: The Double Click Software Atari ST Internet Archive Museum (Official)

Cool! I know I have one, a green one, somewhere. I just hope I didn't give it away to some kid along the way. I went looking for it but couldn't find it with all the other DC stuff. Seems like these things are always there when you don't care about them, then missing when you do care. :) I still ha...

Re: XBIOS 5

The old GFA editor initializes the AES at startup and it does use. If you click Load or Save, etc, it calls fsel_input() but you will notice the file selector is shifted to the left. The AES is unaware of the mode change. If you click Quit it calls form_alert(), also shifted to the left. It doesn't ...

Re: How to lock/close thread ?

Enabling comments on youtube is pointless. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that comments invite trouble makers. It's possible to disable them entirely, that's what I do. Problem solved.

Re: Sprite Editor

I tried it on Hatari as I don't have a Falcon anymore and it seems to work if I set video mode: 256 colors, 80 columns, interlace On or double line Off Config file I used: SetProjectPath :=0 LoadFileAndRun :=0 Bell :=0 Scrambler :=1 HardwareBlit :=1 NoClock :=0 FreMemory :=0 MinMemory :=0 SetAesName...

Re: Sprite Editor

I use it on my Hades for many years at 1280x1024 in 256 colors. I currently use it on aranym 1600x1024 in 256 colors. I don't know what you mean by "after screen mode change". I am already in 256 color mode when I start, no mode changes here.

Re: Sprite Editor

You could try programming one yourself with GFA Basic 3.6TT perhaps? On my falc, 256-colour mode doesn't work in the standard editor, but will work when compiled and run from the desktop. Also with gfa basic you need to remember the maximum string variable size is 32 kb(same as ST screen), as it st...

Re: Call for (not so technical) questions -- Atari's product manager 1991-96

I'm curious who made that decisions about what software was included with the machines, especially the awful ST-BASIC.
Were other BASIC interpreters considered, any deals that fell through?

Re: Problem rebuilding Ray's lz77 utility with PureC

The readme states gwen found the final bug that led to v1.3. I finally found the correct combination of PureC options to produce a binary match, at least until I reached the encoder. Ray sent me a link to v1.2 in his reply so I ran a diff on the sources. One line of code in the encoder was changed. ...

Re: Problem rebuilding Ray's lz77 utility with PureC

I just tried the gcc cross-tools and adding the include you suggested. The binary ends up about 90kb larger and the same issue. Compression results do not match Rays' build, but matches my PureC build. Somehow his build manages to compress 3kb smaller. I think I can safely say he didn't actually inc...

Re: Problem rebuilding Ray's lz77 utility with PureC

Ray's binary contains symbols and if I enable symbols in PureC they are the same when compared to my build. It just don't work right. lol Did you do actual compression tests to insure your build generates the same output as his? There is one odd thing. The title message in the binary he supplied doe...

Solved: Problem rebuilding Ray's lz77 utility with PureC

I contacted Ray, but he could not remember exactly how he compiled the file lz77.s (v1.3) in the archive. He thought he used an old gcc with the -02 option. However, it appears to be compiled PureC with a modified startup module after looking it over in a dis-assembler. It builds without any warning...

Re: Adding STE advanced port, jagpad support for games

I found that ejp faq quite interesting. If my tests are successful gfa will have new command for a reading jaguar controller. Unfortunately I sold my gray jag controller and can only test in Hatari which has limited joypad support so I need someone to try test app. ;)
