Re: Load image in gem app

Under MiNT if you clobber the screen, you must find a way to restore it. ~wind_update(begin_update) !lock screen to stop other apps from drawing on it sget srcn$ !save screen ' show your image here sput scrn$ !restore screen ~wind_update(end_update) !unlock screen Correct way is to put image in a wi...

Re: Gem dialogs

Have a look at the Tim Oren Pro Gem series (English). The examples are in 'C' but the explanations apply to any language. It was the most useful tutorial for me.

Re: Omikron Basic logical Screen

You can use this call to adjust the logical and physical screen addresses. However, being a GFA user I don't know how this will effect omikron.

Happy 2019 to you too :-D Ok ppl, don't let the modest advertising fool you - this is a *massive* upgrade! (in case you haven't been following the GFA dev closely and stayed on the cutting edge with previous beta builds, of course) The new GFA-suite (GBE+libraries+linker+compiler) has progressed ma...

Re: SYSREC a tool to record system calls of an application

SysMon is favorite tool since it dumps all the parameters going in and the call results. You can see exactly what is going on. However, it doesn't cope with MiNT at all which limits it's use. I tried to track down the author without success.

Re: SYSREC a tool to record system calls of an application

Sounds interesting. Something like sysmon. I'm curious if your SYSREC work under MiNT?

FYI, there is a typo on the page "the function umber is displayed both in decimal and hexadecimal"
Missing "n" on "number" ;)

I can tell the archive was created on macOS as it contains hidden system files. If you like to make clean zip files I use this:

I made a plugin for zView that outputs a PCL5 file. Would this be useful for testing as well?

Re: Omikron Basic 5 blit memory to memory and memory blocks

Sounds like he wants off screen bitmaps. Something like NVDI offers. If you don't want to use NVDI then you can use VDI function vro_cpyfm() or Line-A blit directly. You will need OS binding or asm perhaps. They have a lot of parameters.

Re: Hisoft Basic 2

From my experience, Hisoft Basic 2 is a professional product and is a very good product indeed. The editor is quite stable (it is the very same that is used in Lattice C and has been employed in profession environments) and the syntax is clear and well documented. The fact that it is closer to C (w...

Re: Hisoft Basic 2

What would you say was better? I had GFA and HB2 and really preferred the development environment used by HB2, also the GEM toolbox was a great help in getting started. I could never see why people raved about GFA if I'm honest. Not sure why you are replying to a year old post. ;) GFA supports subr...

Re: WINDTAB AND THE AES WIND_xxx FUNCTION

CLEARW internally use Line-A blit, not good. WINDTAB imposes 4 window limit. These built in commands assume single tasking TOS. All in all not worth using and you won't learn proper window handling with this method. These commands by design are kludges, so you're on the right track. ;)

Btw if i understand correctly a zview ldg will never return a line in atari bitplane mode? I would expect this format to be the most natural one for legacy atari formats such as art, degas, img... Correct. The zcodeclib does this conversion to atari bitmap. Like I said, pretty sure he designed thes...

Re: zView plugin reader_read output format

All I had to go by was the source code to the codecs in the plugin folder. I never found any detailed documentation on the codecs themselves. There is however documentation about the zcodeclib. I think he wrote the codecs for his lib and never expected anyone to use the plugins directly. Just my gue...

Re: zView plugin reader_read output format

Correct, pretty sure the buffer is always 1 byte = 1 index. A codec can output image data however it wants, so long as it's one of the data formats zView supports. A codec could output a Degas file in full 24-bit for example, that would not be wise, but it can legally be done. The person writing the...

Re: zView plugin reader_read output format

The indexed flag in the structure should be set true. The buffer is then indexes into the palette that's returned.
