Re: Phweather - weather app for Mint

If the path contains spaces, try quotes. I think Thing Desktop will then know what to do.

Re: Phweather - weather app for Mint

The flashing progress bar is typical when a codec reports any failure. Sadly, zView treats all errors inside a codec the same and has no way to report exactly what happened. A bad path could cause this.

Re: Desktop.inf Mouse double click time ...

Have a look in the the Atari desktop source code, file DESKINF.C if you want to know what's really going on. My 'C' isn't that good, but it looks to me like some sort of external app is required for these settings.

Re: RSC File Reader

If you malloc() some ram, load file, fix all pointers yourself, that is not embedded. That's duplicating exactly what rsrc_load() does. ;) Every comma (,) in a data statement is converted to a null byte when compiled. I could of told you it would increase in size if stored as bytes in data statement...

Re: RSC File Reader

Been quite some time since i worked with GFA, but AFAIK it's not possible to embed initialized structures in the listing. If you get this working, let me know, maybe i can integrate it in ORCS You are correct. The best way to embed a RSC file is the INLINE command, then fix it up yourself, but it l...

Re: Phweather - weather app for Mint

I think a transparent window background would be very hard if not impossible. This is because the desktop background is another process and phclock doesn't really have correct access to the image to blend them like that. Consider also if you was to drag a window under the phclock window in real time...

I would suggest http://dev-docs.atariforge.org/files/ti ... of_gem.pdf
Although the language used is 'C' the concepts and system calls are the same for GFA. It is how I learned GEM coding and I use GFA.

Re: A couple abandonware apps

My HYP2HTML output generates one massive page instead of converting all the nodes into tons of small files. It didn't occur to me that there was online tools for this. If such a conversion maintains the links, that would be awesome. Will do some tests. I had no luck with the PDF stuff you suggested ...

Re: A couple abandonware apps

The HCP tool supplied with ST-Guide can decode then back into ASCII stg format. However, I have found that HCP is buggy and seems to fail on large HYP files. I wrote my own decoder that will decode the ones HCP will not. Currently it converts them to HTML. I suppose it could be adapted to write PDF....

I'd be perfectly happy with a MiNT-Net only solution. Like an ether.xif if possible. So it don't break the GEMDOS HD. My singleTOS days are long gone. ;)

That might be an older version of the site.

I found this, perhaps the current version:

Thorsten, I have spent considerable time using the latest snapshot and not one hiccup with the mouse grab or the bpf_helper login prompt. I thought I was going to be stuck with v0.9.16 forever. Thanks again for caring on these issues.

Hints at 2 versions of the card and uses the Imagine driver. Where to find this driver I have no clue.

Re: Atari Themed Clock face - chimes, alarms and mouse fix

I've seen those extra calls now that you mention it, but all I have is german nvdi 5 docs and no example code. I just wrote them off as not usable. Would be nice if NVDI could do that in one call. I forgot to look at toshyp. Maybe I try some tests sometime with that vdi call.

Re: Atari Themed Clock face - chimes, alarms and mouse fix

Ha ha... yeah smart indeed. I can't even wrap my head reducing a 24-bit RGB to a 3-bit planar graphics. Thanks for explaining... will try it and see if it works for me. I think the nvdi new raster function will be able to do it as well, as it is more powerful than the ROM version. I don't think I e...

Re: Atari Themed Clock face - chimes, alarms and mouse fix

Using zView libraries is smart, no need to reinvent loading routines. You can see results here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGmxM1JjE1w The first blit is vrt_cpyfm() with a 1-plane mask followed by a second blit with vro_cpyfm(). My Boing demo is also using off screen bitmaps, but I could of don...

AFAIK, The VDI raster function that comes in the ROM does not do that.

Yes and no. It requires much more work. It takes 2 blits to achieve the transparent effect. vrt_cpyfm() and vro_cpyfm() are used. I did it in my Boing demo.

If you flex the motherboard you risk damage. Its the surface mounted sockets around the CPU that easily become cold soldered. I don't know how to overclock it, but you can email Medusa and try asking. Fredi will either tell you or advice against it. ;)
