Yes, I hope my "tongue out" emoticon wasn't missed. BadMood is, as it is, far more than Falcon users could have wished for a few short years ago

Re: Demo scene

Speaking of this, I'm a bit out of touch. Pouet used to be the site you went to for demo's. What's the deal with demozoo starting up, people saying pouet is dead and some people clearly not liking Pouet anymore? Was there some big fight or something?

I will third it ;-) But I realise the primary focus is the standard STE.
Great work again on this, as usual.

Re: After nearly 20 years, will anyone crack Cubase Audio 2.06?

I don't mean to use foul language on here, but f u ck me! What a thing to go through, suffocating to unconsciousness several times while in hospital.... as if everything else wasn't bad enough! So glad to hear you are on the mend EDIT and sorry to hear about your Kwaka! Did you mean the GPZ 900R? Ni...

Re: The "New horizons" of the new Atari brand.

What is so heterosexual about games? Video game characters are so unrealistic in so many facets of their existence, their bodies, their powers, their objectives like collecting stars and jumping on the heads of mushrooms... omg.. and people are worried about guessing what their sexuality is and whet...

Re: Atari Portable

The 56001 isn't easy to source, but it has present-day descendants which, according to freescale's website, are "100% object code compatible" with the 56001. These are dual core DSP's that run at speeds around 300mhz. And they only cost about $10. But making a Falcon compatible would be di...

Re: Hard 'n' Heavy improved, final update

Agreed, cool stuff yet again from you! I know it must take such a long time to disassemble, document the code to turn it back into some kind of "source code" and make these changes. I have to confess I find all the different versions a little fractured. My thoughts (for you to ignore as yo...

Re: Who uses Steem macros and profiles?

I've tried to play with macro's a few years ago to automate some tasks, but haven't used them for a while now. I SHOULD use profile instead of always changing memory, TOS etc to for certain software but I must confess I don't. Maybe some included profiles would help get the ball rolling for some peo...

Re: Most catchy st tune ever

There are some nice tunes here, many I've heard before. Apologies if it's already in this thread and I missed it, but a tune I heard ripped and used in lots of intro's and even a tetris game was by Mad Max (I think?) and it had a morse code-like voice going just about the whole time. That used to ge...

I think the ST's true abilities are served up to us on a plate here, I'm sure the tutorials and some basic tinkering are not too hard for a STOS programmer!

Re: Something positive, for change

"Terminator 2 is one of the only best movies ever made" - you are correct, this is not correct English. "Only" is redundant when paired with "best", because "best" kind of already includes "only" in its meaning. So I'm sorry to use a bad example, I d...

I'm curious, have the small changes such as replacing lots of movew's with Movem.w had much impact on performance? It's hard to tell in the youtube video. Regarding colours and palette, I'm sure you have seen the thread by Anima on Ghouls n Ghosts, including his posts about palette reduction already...

...It's just because nick and grammar. "one of the only decent games" - surely not native English speaker. FWIW - that is a perfectly valid and commonly used English phrase :) Only ,,, and then not game but games ??? I thought that 'only' is for single, not multiple. OK, will not say more...

Re: Call for (not so technical) questions -- Atari's product manager 1991-96

What were the key markets the Falcon aimed at, that you were hoping to get a share in? It seems the ST is disproportionately remembered for games today, even though it wasn't a games machine and was in fact marketed as a music and business machine in a number of ads along the way. Likewise with the ...

Along with the hand sorting, perhaps some load points within levels? I know it's a killer on a real floppy drive but an STE with 4mb and a hard disk / sd card is far more common than STE's with >4mb RAM

Re: Possible cheap SuperVidel hardware

I know what you're saying, mfro, but so is the hardware in the original SuperVidel, and the ARM CPU's in the RaspberryPi in Cosmo Ex's, and even the processing power in some adapters that upscale and scan-double video signals from the ST so that we can use modern monitors and TV's. It's hard to avoi...
