if I am force sensitive and able to do that.... I would mind trick Vincent & Roger to make an ARM Emutos
Even use it on someone else at Intel.... NXP.... and who knows....

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.8

Keep on dreaming. This will never happen. It took 16 years (yes, sixteen) to bring up EmuTOS from the DR sources to where we are today. For a very simple, well documented, easily understandable, 25 years old machine with only a handful of interfaces. Compared to TOS 1.0 "only" the BDOS an...

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.8

See my post 6 steps above. 1- Emutos x86 + 68k emulator at the beginning. 2 - Port GCC libs and tool chain to x86 3 - Recompilation of Mint, fvdi and all modern apps to x86 target, and for old apps it will be emulation only. That's what was done for the Firebee, no? As I said before, it's a chicken...

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.8

Sorry what I mean is to be able to bootstrap to TOS without any other underlying OS. Sorry i still don't understand, do you mean compiling some TOS program (to native, eg x86 code), then "link" it to an x86 version of EmuTOS? For console programs, that would not make much sense, if you ar...

Aranym, sure is doing that but needed some OS before it.

Speed wise, i think running on my pentium mobo that i have somewhere in my cupboard ( if it has not rusted away) will be faster than any pre-1995 Atari.

Sure we all know that fvdi can do that and more.
But I was testing one of my applications that needed Speedo Gdos and that did not run on the FB.
My aranym was somehow setup with VI for that test....

Re: [A]tari [G]ame [T]ools - 2D prototyping engine for STE

I've been meaning to post about this for ages, but I've started working on a platformer using AGT. Stalled a little recently but will try and get back into it over the next couple of weeks. It's going to be called Dave the Dragon :) Here's an out of date screenshot, might post a quick test build at...

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.8

What I always thought would be great if there is a native Intel TOS like environment, with JIT emulation for the software.
So if EMUTOS moves to Intel CPU... that's a first step.

Re: ARAnyM and screen enhancers (Videlity, BlowUp etc)

Vídel inside works perfectly with Mint on Aranym. I have set 1920x1200x256 and 800x592 TC without any issue. You must boot on TOS 4.04, not on Emutos. Set a 256c VGA resolution for Xaaes, and then set the resolution with VI2. Screen freq has no meaning under Aranym, so you can set it as low as you ...

Since PH GMap is fixed for N.AES now ( I hope) , I will fix the other applications.
Then I will come back to this new feature as I already have something in my mind.

Re: 'Cannot open file AS'

Normally artifact like these happens when you use a drive ( HDD, CF, SD etc) on a Windows PC. Windows writes extra entries for long file names but they points to nothing, they are just to construct LFN. If you are using MINT or MagiC, you may configure vfat for that drive and you may not get these &...

Ah yes, Joska Thanks for reminding.
There was tons of these "NVDI needed for XaAES" on the Mint list some years back.
I was just going off to look for those posting.

Re: Almost there... (XaAES crash and

Just make sure you can boot to MINT & XaAES without NVDI. This is really a terrible advice. That NVDI requirement is there not for fun, CT60 can't patch Blitter accesses so as soon as the OS asks underlying VDI for something and that something uses the Blitter -> crash. NVDI replaces all routin...

Thanks for reporting. Yes, Street view window is properly saved into the file cfg. Only the About window position & size is not saved. All other windows position/size are saved. Ah now I remember, there was a small error previously that does not save the size. Please resize it to be smaller - cl...
