Re: EmuTOS 0.9.9

Do I need to repeat already said here - that there is return value of Ikbdsys, and it makes pretty much sense ? - EmuTOS ikbdsys does not return anything meaningful, because it considers this is not necessary to be compatible with TOS. - AtariZoll's game adaptations expect that ikbdsys returns a ne...

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.9

We are speaking about one piece of software copied multiple times. Also nothing is removed from EmuTOS. We are talking about adding something. It is a situation similar when TOS 1.04 was released. It was better but some programs wouldn't run because they exploited bugs and undocumented "featur...

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.9

Something for you lot here to ponder on.... When a person tells you what is wrong with your software (or looks, clothing, behavior, work ... insert whatever you want here ), it is because that person cares about your software (or whatever you inserted above). Because if that person don't care, he d...

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.9

So by REMOVING this undocumented/ exploit... No! You must read more carefully. It's not a case of REMOVING anything. It's a case of ADDING code to support a hack. Ah yes, thank you for clarification. This just means that NEWTOS or what you call EMUTOS is not compatible because new stuff is needed t...

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.9

It is not about removing something, but changing EmuTOS code to satisfy one person's dirty (yes, dirty. Disassembling TOS to find undocumented vectors/hooks/variables to exploit is *not* clean) code. There are so many dirty tricks used, especially in games from the 80's, that it's virtually impossi...

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.9

Neither is mine, i am just translating. In short Emutos is not TOS and TOS bugs should be included only if many people used them as features. If it is just one developer... you speak of one developer, but one developer can be better than a whole bunch.... because one developer may have created more...

Re: new Nova drivers

It was Gerhard Huber, the creator of Nova card, whom gave them to me when I can't get mine to work years ago.
We thank him for it !!

And thank you for trying out my Mint guide. I hope it can help get more users to understand and use Mint.

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.9

Seriously though, the way I understand Emutos' scope is that it is not trying to recreate TOS but rather it tries to be a better TOS compatible OS for our Atari systems. With that in mind, the Emutos team needs to aim at better compatibility but at the same time, that should not include turning bug...

a) Visit this place and download the complete package. It doesn't matter that it says TT. Just download the VME8 package. That's my site being ripped... well Ok backed up... by Bug. My current site is here . Contents for the Nova are the same. New PHSW programs can be found at my site as well.

Re: Moving CT60 to a different Falcon

My CT63 sometime exhibit blank screen on power up. My trick to get it up on 2nd power up is as follows: 1. Toggle to 030 mode and power up. 2. when it is still running, toggle back to 060 mode... it will hang. 3. Press hardware reset to reboot. 4. ... and it will boot to 060 mode. May be you can try...

.1) data should be free, not tied to particular program (XLS, DOC, PSD...) well, i created a XLSX file on win 10 and store it on my NAS. However, my son wanted to view it on his phone, so he uploaded it to Goofgle Docs and used his phone to edit it. I used it on Chrome for a while and wanted to for...

I am using win 10. i find that Microslop have improved on their patches updates & upgrades, as those are downloaded in the background while using it. It takes days, you can see the status of the download on the update status screen, but in no way competing for resources with you. Most small patc...

Re: Falcon NO display after NVRam replacement

Glad that it is working for you. No doubt that it is a great idea to use SD-IDE adapter and SD cards. I suspected my SD-IDE adapter was a walking wounded. I cannot test any more as I may have thrown it away in a fit of fury. What I remembered was that the same SD card was slower when using my SD-IDE...

Re: Falcon NO display after NVRam replacement

Oh yeah I was using the SD reader sometime but not any more. Looks like back in 2010 or earlier from this post: http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=18840#p162322 I found that it was slower than with the CF adapter, so I switch to CF adapter. And also using FAT32 for file transfer sin...

Re: Falcon CF Card Partitions Gem & PC /w HDDriverr

I should have better said "Downside is that I cannot access in a pure TOS desktop environment as my transfer format is FAT32 ."" I am sure your newly designed driver will be able to do much more now. Again like in other thread, I do not dispute your superior knowledge in Atari hardwar...

Re: Falcon CF Card Partitions Gem & PC /w HDDriverr

The reason i say my HDD configuration on my Falcon is because of this sentence. idea to add a second CF card. One will be permanent, the other swappable! if you add a 2nd CF card.... use it as the one for file transfer between PC and Atari. if you set format to FAT32, it seems that you do not need t...

Re: Falcon CF Card Partitions Gem & PC /w HDDriverr

It is indeed a Master-slave setup. Nothing magical here. The autoboot is always from my TOS format C drive, to boot up Mint. The card that moves from Atari to PC and back is the SD card. I am using a CF adapter for SD card. I am not sure who is doing byte swapping, but I think it must be HDDriver as...

I just received 2 of these from Olivier. He sent them out very fast, postage stamp was on Friday and I received on Wednesday. Of course it was within EU. I have now used it on my Falcon ( CT63 with ATI ) and in general it works. I am using a logitech M100 mouse, only spare one I have. It will track ...

I currently use this 3-way cable in my falcon https://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/1pcs-12-Inch-3-Head-2-Drive-2-5-IDE-44-Pin-Laptop-Hard-Drive-Ribbon-Cable-USA/352214655217 The 2 connector nearer each other are inside attached to the mobo & internal HDD. The longer section of the cable sticks out to a C...
