Re: Quitting STOS

Sorry, now I read my post with fresh eyes I can see I was not being very clear. The original post appeared to be stating that it was not possible to run STOS from a HD unless it was in placed the Auto folder, I was trying to indicate that it is possible as I have run both STOS and STOS 3D from a HD ...

Re: Quitting STOS

Not sure why you cannot run STOS from a HD outside of an Auto folder as I have done on both my ST and Falcon, as far as I can recall I created a folder and just copied the files from the disk into them. Although now I think about it I do recall editing a file (BASIC.BAS?) to point something to the c...

Re: STOS public domain library - Sandra Sharkey / GOODMANS P

I don't know if LaST PD ( http://www.atari.org.uk/ ) has anything but the copyright was last dated 2009 so I am not sure it Steve is actually still running it as a going concern or just keeping the the site up and as I recall was not always the easiest guy to get hold of.

Re: Examples of games written in STOS?

I am not sure that list is much of a reference, for a start it does not as far as I could see indicate that all those titles are written in STOS. OK the "Stosser Software" titles are obvisouly STOS bbut what aboutthe others? As I recall I have/had a poker dice and a fishing game which I do...

Re: struggling with sprites on Stos

The problem may be your use of two For and two Next statements on the same line. I have neved tried doing that and do not recall seeing any code or manual reference that says you can do so therfore it may be something STOS is not set up for and thus not trapping as an error, consquently STOS may be ...

Re: are there people still coding on Stos?

I don't know how many people are still activly coding in STOS, probably not as many as other Atari languages however there certainly used to be various meetings around mainland Europe at least on a monthly basis that to my knoweledge are mainly coding events with competitions although I don't know i...

Re: STOS website planning updates n stuff

Anything STOS related is good enough to go on, there isn't much really on there overall, Im sure there is more out there in the STOS world than is on the site. I went though all the PD lists looking for stos stuff, and all I could find is listed there already. There must be more out there! I have a...

Re: STOS Game Creator

If the download version from the STOS site does not work for you then go to http://www.btinternet.com/~AnthonyJ/Atari/stos/index.html and download STOS Basic V2.07, it should run on the STE as I used it on my TOS 1.02 ST and my Falcon. It has been a few years since I have done any STOS stuff so I ma...

Re: JagFest X - Retro Revival, September 24th-26th 2010

The organiser has asked me to pass on the following information... I have been getting asked alot of questions about the event so I will just answer them all here: 1. Deadline for buying tickets is 1st September to leave me enough time to get the tickets printed and send them out. 2. There will no t...

Re: Building PeSTs, JeSTs, EPROMs, VGA SCART leads THIS WEEK

Stephen Moss was working on a PS1 analogue pad convertor for the Jaguar .. no idea how far he got with making it a reality though. Well I had it running on my Jaguar at least years JagFest showing that I could controller motor functions, Analogue/Digital mode selection and reporting back (to my lap...

Re: Help needed in PDF conversions of manuals

I scanned the STOS 3D manual, I can post a link if you can crop the images easily ? they will need flipping and converting to pdf.. I scanned them at 300DPI as not to loose any quality, can't stand scans of like 10DPI which is how poor some scans seem to be on the net! I know that scanner make mist...

Re: WHERE TO BUY ST / FALCON / TT HARDWARE & SOFTWARE

A rather shameless self promotion but I now have some Dallas DS12887 Falcon NVRAM/Clock chips in stock, you can find them on the hardware page of my website at http://www.sgmelectrosoft.co.uk. I am selling to UK and Europe only as I suspect that with additional postage cost and the exchange rate US ...

Re: STOS and digitized sound samples?

I appreciate the heads up! I'll look into the Maestro Extension for STOS. Just to clarify it is Maestro Plus that has the sampling cartridge, plain Meastro is just the extension and some example samples. I am interested in STOS 3D, so I am able and willing to absorb anything you may be willing to p...

Re: STOS and digitized sound samples?

I have a quick question about STOS and digitized sound samples. I recently purchased a complete STOS package (new, never used) for $.99 and I was wondering if you could somehow use digitized sounds from a different source. I have an ST Replay by Microdeal and I would like to make my own sound effec...
