Re: FOR SALE - Atari 520 STE with extras (SatanDisk).

Hi Thomas,

I'd really prefer not to ship to the US.

The idea of shipping a 30 year old computer that sort of distance, then having to deal with any potential issues that may arise. I just don't want the hassle.

Sorry, but appreciate the interest.

Re: Outrun with frame counter

Great effort so far, well done.

Slightly off topic, what frame rate did the Lotus games run at on the ST? Think the Amiga version is 25fps.

Re: Daimakaimura (Ghouls 'n Ghosts) for the Atari STE

The guy has 3 posts, all of them in this thread and 2 of them are asking for an update. It looks desperate, makes a mess of the thread and sends unnecessary notifications to people who are subscribed. And I mean this for all threads similar to this. My point is valid, Anima was always very forth com...

Re: Daimakaimura (Ghouls 'n Ghosts) for the Atari STE

I wish people would stop harassing developers for info. Anima has always been upfront and vocal regarding any updates to his projects. I understand it's exciting to see progress in projects, especially stuff like this, but it's annoying getting emails about threads I'm subscribed to only to find it'...

Re: Pacmania STE - New Version

Yes it is strange that samples was not used in Chaos Engine if there was no music playing during levels anyway? Most Bitmap Brothers games was a bit silent during gameplay so it is not exclusive to CE... but an enhanced STE version with YM music and DMA SFX would have been great. If it was not the ...

Re: Pacmania STE - New Version

Yes it was a bit disappointing that Chaos Engine did not use the PCM channel of the STE... but i do remember reading that the Bitmap Brothers had problem with the sound of the STE and i can only guess it was because of the sound balance bug of PCM and YM that caused it and eventually i guess they s...

Re: Pacmania STE - New Version

Hi there, I love the way Pacmania takes advantage of the STE's hardware. It would have been great to see more games take advantage ot the STE's capabilities. Just look at the difference between "The Chaos Engine" on the STE and ST in this comparison video https://youtu.be/02rap0lzGpM It i...

Nostalgia Nerd - Atari Falcon video

Hi chaps,

Just been notified that the Nostalgia Nerd is releasing a video about the Atari Falcon at 9pm UK time if anyone is interested:-

His videos are normally pretty good and generally historically accurate

Re: RARE VINTAGE ATARI 800 COMPUTER SYSTEM (MINT)

All of their prices are insane. There's also a breadbin C64 for £250 + p&p.

Just price gouging while retro computing is at an all time high.

If people pay it then more fool them.

Might be completely out of scope for this project but would it be a serious amount of work to remove the proprietary memory interface and replace with SIMM sockets?

Re: How not to use an Amiga

Not something I personally like to see, waste of hardware. But I doubt this was a 'targeted Amiga terrorist attack'

Probably someone goofing around and happened to have an old broken Amiga in his loft, from the looks of the video it wasn't the only think they'd destroyed that day.

Re: Geneva and NeoDesk 4 Released as Donationware

Great news and huge thanks to Dan for taking the time and making the effort to get this released.

With Magic being closed source and MINT being a little resource hungry for 16-bit machines, Geneva with its source code could mean exciting times for ST owners.

Porting and enhancing it to make it more than a tech demo : it is the goal  At least the eerie forest level, as it is the 'only-my-amoeba-with-its-gpu[laughters]-and-zillions-of-DMAs-I-am-not-even-able-to-tell-U-how-it-works-can-do-it[SIGHS]' bit that really always made me roll on the floor l...

Re: Porting SOTB to the Falcon

OK I get why as a technical demonstration this would be a cool thing to do. But honestly, the game is utter dog crap! Why not save yourself the effort and maybe only port the main part of SOTB as a proof of concept and leave it at that? You'll prove your point and save yourself any additional effort...
