Re: Outrun with frame counter

I think that you'll need to move the car with smaller increments, some parts look unplayable.

Also more sprite sizes would be great but you'll need to modify the tracks...

Thanks for the credits

By the way it's "swap d0", llike the opcode, but you can't use spaces in the nickname, in the video looks like "swapdo" with an 'o' vowel.

Re: Outrun with frame counter

Yes, it's a circular buffer of 50 elements, the fps it's a count of how many items in the list are set to one, I never reset the list but on each vbl I reset the current frame. It's something like this, in crap pseudocode char fps[50]; int vbl_frame; void vbl() { .... fps[vbl_frame++] = 0; if (vbl_f...

Re: Outrun with frame counter

I did a frame counter many years ago like this way: - you have an array of "booleans" with 50 elements all set to false - on each vbl you increment the index into the array and clear his value - each time you finish a frame mark the array[index] as true - count how many true values you hav...

Re: LZ4 decoder (assembler)

Done!

If someone is interested I can post the code later, you just have to remove some part that copy the packed data at the end of the buffer.

Wow, I've seen this today, I didn't know that he died.

I never know him but when I was looking for a nickname for myself I remembered him (I saw and intro with hidden line 3d cube, IIRC was for First Samurai cracktro) and I decided to use swap d0.

RIP.

Re: efficient polygon drawing

I think that you must be sure that if you draw a line in xor mode from (0,0 to 100,100) and another line from (100, 100 to 120, 150), the pixel at (100, 100) it's drawn only one time.

Ok, the prg version works (I didn't know that it existed. XD) but the bas version doesn't, it gets hung before the intro screen, I'm using TOS 1.02 into Hatari 1.8, Mac OSX.

Re: ModelSim closes at start

Easy solution. Quartus II 13.1 was released on 13th November. Looking here https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases , you can see that the latest ubuntu version was 12.04.3, download it from here http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/12.04.3/ , install Quartus II, and ... it works!!!!!!!!!1!!! It's strang...

Re: ModelSim closes at start

You're right, that is not the problem, with that dll installed it doesn't work.

I'm going to try with a clean windows xp and a windows 2000..., by the way I was using a windows xp with service pack 2, but with the service pack 3 I got the same result.

Re: ModelSim closes at start

I think I read that guide as well . . . I used Ubuntu Desktop 17.04 even then I had to use downgraded libraries. I documented a step by step guide for myself. The first part is for setting up Xilinx for MEGA65 . . . you can ignore that . Just skip to this bit . . . "ALTERA Quartus II 13.1 - fo...

Re: ModelSim closes at start

Anyway I'm installing a ubuntu machine to have a try on it. That will require some tweaking as well - ModelSim/Quartus 13.1 will not run on current 64bit Ubuntu. This hint worked for me (with current 18.04 LTS as well): http://mattaw.blogspot.com/2014/05/making-modelsim-altera-starter-edition.html ...
